  • played really well first half - yes we really did
  • keeper inspired - maybe, I think it was more poor finishing
  • dominant, on the front foot, created chances - we were, and we did
  • we had energy - we did
  • but it's about scoring goals
  • started second half well - we did
  • their first shot on target - it was
  • our player lost his man for the second - at the time it looked like someone was getting blocked off
  • but it's about results
  • AG: combinations were working well on both flanks
  • Flo played well
  • AG: Confidence drained away? - Not immediately it didn't. McEveley's wonder run and Adams mishit shot was straight after their goal
  • Woolford injured - he was, and there was no booking, got nothing off a poor ref. It was a late baad challenge and no surprise it ended in an injury he had to come off for.
  • Flo picked up an injury, hopefully not serious
  • Che and Billy looked a good combination - till it comes to finishing
  • we are trying to be attack minded and win games - fwiw I thought finishing was an issue pre-season, and all the time up to Christmas - that's what was costing us games - now we're at it again

Billy would be on double the amount of goals he's got if he was a good enough finisher.

I suppose that explains why he is playing in league 1.

Didn't go today, sounded like we were a tad unfortunate though since we sounded so dominant in the first half. But if you don't take your chances then results like today are to be expected.

But we lost. Not by one lucky goal. But by two.

Does everything in your brain sound like birdsong, WHF.

I couldn't give a fat fuck what Adkins says. When he opens his mouth, McCabes voice comes out, right up unto the day he's fucking sacked, and then it is stuffed with tenners to keep him quiet. Just like the others.

Wasn't Billy who missed the chances though was it to my knowledge

We know he will not be sacked. The club are going no where under him but staying in this league.

He had a one-on-one snuffed out when the keeper collected as he tried to round him and he was put in behind only to be caught up with.

Adams probably had a couple of slightly better chances.

Another load of fucking shit - every fucker agrees

We won't make the play offs - every fucker except WHF agrees
but we weren't fucking shit for most of the game. Everyone who went would agree with that

1st 60 minutes was probably the best football we've played all season. Quick, incisive and attack-minded. If Che had his scoring boots on we could have have been 3-0 up at half time.

After they scored, the confidence visably drained from them and was not good enought

I'm on about the interview

Appreciate your effort and enthusiasm William Henry Foulkes .
Right now I can't stomach hearing Adkins, it's soul-destroying what's happening to our beloved club.

Why?

2-0 at half time would have been reasonable. 3-0 wouldn't have been too much. It was our best sustained football of the season.

And straight after the goal McEveley went on his run and Adams missed another very good chance - not a criticism, just an observation.

I wonder why the players lost confidence...

Inspirational half time team talk ,as they nodded off after the 4th endeavour.

Just more Bullshit, from the master of Bullshitters, “Some people wish they could have invented the wheel. But I’m trying to reinvent the wheelbarrow, to more efficiently to haul around all Adkins bullshit.

Kudos for swapping the red text to the left. That'll undermine the nasty people. :)

Adkins is a weak, wanker of a manager. He has known, or should have, since last May what was needed. So, instead, we have Edgar, Hammond, Woolford and Sammon plus an overrated Sharp. Fuck off Adkins.

Because they are a shit collection of football players who know they had neither the skill, the gumption, the bottle or the desire to turn it around.

Don't you dare make it the fans fault for those wankers.
As pissed off as we all are this team of shit collection of footballer managed to get to 2 semi finals and the play offs - the biggest issue is we are going backwards after adding supposed quality at significant cost.

We've barely spent anything this season.
The players need to ask themselves why they can get themselves up for the glamour cup tied and not the less glamorous ties.

I need to stop listening to Adkins interviews.

To be frank - listening to him speak is one of the most frustrating and pointless exercises that you could ever submit yourself to.

He tries to speak like a politician - constantly avoiding the question and side stepping anything that could be construed as negative. Ask him a straight question and get a load of meaningless waffle in return. Unfortunately for Adkins, there is a good percentage of Blades who are more informed than the average electorate and can see straight through his bullshit.

We need some honesty. The truth might not be nice but I could take it a damn site easier than his cliche ridden, repetitive and frankly insulting spin.

He wont hear you. you will be on ignore mate.

Yes we were on the attack in the first half. No we didn't score. Why not ? The saves made by their mom goalie were from good edge of the box shots at head height. We didn't create clear cut chances inside the box. Adams could not have done better with those shots. He did well to get them on target. Why didn't we create nailed on chances from all our dominant play ? Because the MF do not run forward fast enough to support the strikers when an attack develops. They get dizzy after the halfway line or are they are just lazy. We often had just 1 man in their box so got outnumbered time after time. So then Sharpy ends up coming deep for the ball wearing himself out and he can't cross to himself ! And the bloody corners we wasted ! I used to cheer when we got a corner. No point now. We don't beat the first defender ! Time after time. We truly have no idea how to take a corner to put a defence under pressure. Failing to beat the first defender should qualify as gross misconduct and thus sackable without notice. But we'd have no players left.

Its one thing to play well and lose. I’m sure we did have the best game of “sustained football” this season. But what good did it do?

Perhaps on another day, Sharp would’ve had a chance from 8 yards to bury and we’d be talking about a good performance and a decent performance, like last week.

Perhaps what we needed was to perform like we did against Coventry.

Adkins talk a lot. He rarely says anything with real substance. I’ll post this here as well (posted in the Flo Interview thread). I think it really shows the difference between a manager at a top club, a team of winners, and SUFC.

Zidane said: "We were not as ready for the game as we thought we were. All I can say is that it's not just about our fitness.

"The players are not unfit, it's a question of everything. We didn't play the game we had prepared.

"They played on Wednesday and had less time to recover, and look at the game they played. So it is a mental question. We lacked a bit of everything.

"I told the players that we have to keep on going, I can't be happy with this performance and neither are they, but we can't give up. I have a clear idea of what went wrong today."

Adkins has spoken this week about wanting winners, he has no time for quitters, I have felt for a while (and others have spoken of it) that we have a squad which accepts mediocrity and this attitude has to change. Look at the difference in the Zidane comments, he’s not looking to accept where they are, he’s not talking about honesty, he’s being honest.

The biggest difference is talking about what went wrong, not just saying we played well, we were unlucky, we played nice football.
