Yesterday I was relieved that we equalised before half time, it wasn't a goal celebration was it, more of a collective thank f@ck when Collins scored...

With this in mind we need, in my opinion to have a fans vote of confidence in Adkins, quietly on here and private to actual blades, forget barnowl who has to begin every post and end it by wanting our manager out, because he's a pig, stop replying to a thread killing pig, that's a start..

And if we are ever going to do anything then we need to build properly, whilst not being a fan of clough and that was because he spent our clubs money on players got all Mandy tits and sent them off on loan, maybe I'm a bit Yorkshire but I expect to get something when I've spent my brass, and was looking forward to seeing him build a team, he was so close to setting up a great team it was scary, anyway who stopped him? Nigel clough or the board? We'll never know will we..

So now we are here again with a new guy, who might be staring down he barrel of The boards shotgun should he not get us up, we need as fans to think Liverpool (lol) and make sure the board can't sack Nigel 2 should they get the itchy trigger finger again this close season, whilst I admit that I am severely disappointed with the lack of impact NA has had, I do think as a club we need to properly abandon knee jerk reactions and sacking people who have in football terms had five minutes at it...

Let's be a bit more savvy and not hit the panic button as fans, the booing has to stop, I've heard they booed at the final whistle on Saturday, don't know how true it was but I left a few minutes before it finished so I didn't have to hear it, in case they did, at half time they would have been booed off the pitch had they not equalised, and if we had booed them, they would have lost that game, #unitedtogether....it's a bit cheesy I know, but if we're going to get anywhere it won't be fast, but we need to stick together, through thick and thin.... It's not a sprint, it's a marathon..

Very thoughtful and positive post tezza pity more fans can't see the bigger picture.

I'm a pig because I've been silly enough to point out the wide array of fundamental errors in Adkins' management? OK.

I think your thread is cliche-ridden and boring by the way. Much like the way Adkins conducts his interviews.

There was no booing at the final whistle from what I heard on the kop. Think we all knew we'd got off lightly after coming back from two down.

As for booing. Patience has all but run out, completely understandable. Going two down so easily yesterday was almost the final straw, if we'd gone in 0-2 down at half time yesterday I think I'd have gone to the pub. Thankfully we pulled something out of the bag.

The fans have put up with so much recently, Time for the board, the manager and players to start repaying the faith.

A lot of the disappointment yesterday is this was one of the games we really needed to win as we now start what looks to be the most difficult run of games of the season with only the Shrewsbury game looking a win banker.

We could find ourselves in a spot of bother come early January if we aren't careful.

Thanks for saying that.

We shouldn't be unquestioningly obedient but if we think there's something wrong we need to be constructively critical, booing has no place in that.

Adkins out from the word go for you, I know I'm contradicting myself here but just for once I will reply to you, you are not and never have been a Sheffield United fan, you want Adkins out and have done since before a ball was kicked this season, conversely every blade and Wendy I know said he was a brilliant appointment and the best we could have got, Wendy mates in hillsborough where I'm from wanted him in charge at s6, pretty much the only person I see on here with a poisonous campaign against Adkins is you, why, cause you're a pig wanting us to fail, it's your job, and you appear to have some on here fooled, not all of us, I will finish by saying that when you spelled he uncleans name on here a month or so ago you used their full name, capitalising the S &W in the description, PIGS takes about a second to do, and that's when you blew your cover, you're a pig who pretends to sell a fictional season ticket in order that you don't have to explain why you didn't see anything at the last match, sad, sad boy.. I'm glad you replied to me when I called you barnowl, that's strike two, get out of bed a bit earlier pig boy

Agree, I can't see any game as a banker though dude, sure I'm not on my own there, this season I wanted us to smash this league and come out fighting for every ball. It's not gonna happen is it, but we need to sort the problems out and give our manager time, somebody said they'd sack basset had he been in charge and took us down last year, look what happened because we didn't, keep the faith..UTB

I was in the middle of the South Stand not too far from the front and there was some brief booing from the Kop. Thought this was fairly obvious, though it quickly faded to leave the sound of half-hearted clapping.

Radio sheff reported they'd heard booing at the final whistle, glad to know it wasn't true, I walked out and the whistle went as I walked down the steps at the back of the kop, I didn't hear any booing either, but I was half way down the steps, glad to be wrong..

If the players can't cope with the 'pressure' of playing for Sheffield United in the third division, then the choice is simple: piss off and ply your trade elsewhere.

It's November and we're already out of the automatic promotion race for another season, and people wonder why the fans are miffed.

Although saying that, I'm fully behind Adkins and think he should be backed this season and next to try and sort out Clough's mess.

There was booing at the final whistle.
Clearly audible but not the majority.

It was true. There was brief booing by a small minority. Radio Sheffield might have made more of it – I can't say, I didn't listen to P&G.

Adkins has my vote for what it's worth, i just hope that if the board do give him the boot anytime soon then they follow him out the door on the way out.

They can't keep blaming the manager all the time. Okay, we don't know what his budget is but whilst we keep sacking managers we'll get no where, that much is evident. The board are the ones who keep getting away with it, if for once they had the balls to go through with some proper backing they might achieve something, thus saving them more money in the future and perhaps even making something.

They dilly dally with peanuts in footballing terms instead of really showing some proper ambition. This is a key thing for me, If they were to say we've got fuck all then the fans would understand more but at the same time they shouldn't expect too much from the manager all at once if this was the case, he would need time on a shoestring budget. Now this is where i think the board have been clever over the years, they say the managers have money to spend to us fans but then evidence with the signings over the years says differently, but they then have an out to us as fans when they say the managers not doing it, we're giving (insert any manager) the chop but we're staying.

No doubt this will be a minority view and it is only my view but i really don't give a flying fuck. The board have had it way too easy over the years and the week after the Murphy sale, when i saw McCabe in the Copthorne, some of the things he said, all of it bollocks 'btw' has made me realise things are not going to change anytime soon while ever we have a disinterested and such an unambitious bloke like McCabe in charge.

I don't boo anyone, it sounds fucking daft and i certainly don't think anyone should start saying a manager should go who has only been here 5 minutes.

UTB without McCabe please.

Why are we out of the Automatics ?

Go through my posts and you'll find very accurate observations of many of the games.

Sorry but the pig accusations are old and boring now.

Really this response is straight from the pages of Bladesmad where anyone is highly critical is accused of being a pig. We had Len on here who was every bit as critical as Barny but he was never accused of being from the darkside. Do you know Barny personally and know that he is a Wednesday supporter.

Any manager deserves a year to sort things out.

I agree, in fact I think managers should have at the very least 2 full seasons to make their mark, provided they are showing some signs of progress. Personally I would have given Clough this season until at least Christmas.

However, what is worrying is that currently under Adkins we are not showing progress. We are worse off than last year in terms of points, league position and being out of the league cup, and performances are much the same and the players brought in haven't addressed the glaring issues from last year.

I don't buy into the notion that Adkins is dealing with "Clough's mess". Clough left a squad that finished 5th. Adkins has had almost 5 months to improve what he had, and has had that time to recruit and bring in the players we needed. His signings have been very poor - he failed to sign a permanent center half; failed to add any pace, hunger or dominance into central midfield; brought in another slow, useless midfielder in Woolford, and barley uses Sammon. Sharp is a good signing for this level.

The defending is still woeful. He hasn't found is best 11. Chops and changes every week. Sounds clueless in his interviews.

All of the above are what fans accused Clough of. That, and "bullying" McNulty......who has been rightly shipped out due to his off the field antics. Appears Clough was probably right there.

What worries me is that Adkins is making the exact same mistakes as Clough, and has not even had the "new manager impact". The only hope any of us has is that Adkins has past promotions on his C.V. That is the ONLY thing that is different to Clough, other than being 5 points off where we were at this stage last season.

I don't think we will make the play off's this season. However, I'd still give Adkins another season to get it right. I don't think the board will though, and Adkins will be gone in May. And we'll be having this exact same debate about a new manager this time next year.

November is the point ,we have time to get things sorted ,arguably our best player to come back ,January transfer window ,Burton and Gillingham etc aren't all that. Long way to go ,9 points is fuck all in this division ,don't write it off yet.

I think we have to be realistic.
The squad won't change until late January. We have an awful lot of games and points to drop before then.
Brayford is recovering from a major injury and won't have a proper impact for a long time, if he comes back as the same player we had on loan.
The gap keeps increasing rather than shortening and if we can't beat the worst teams in this league, how can we expect to beat the best?

A play off position is still possible if we can avoid losing too many from now until January, but as Pete says lets be honest top two (really only second place as Wigan are going to be home and hosed by April) is going to be out of our reach.

Having said that an horrendous next month and we could be looking at 50 points as a target.

Good op , agree with the main points. I am remaining positive and patient but it's hard when we don't seem to be getting any better. Still a long way to go though.

As for the booing, I was fairly central in the South stand and heard pockets at both half and full time. Probably not loud enough to be too obvious pitch side though.
