Warnock built a team with him as a focal point and issued fines to players that would pass to him when Taraabt was in his own half. He was not a team player, and is probably about as far away as it can be from a Wilder player.

It's up to the manager to make him one of their players, its what they are paid for. In doing this, Warnock even went to the extent of making Taarabt stay in his house for 6 months and got Sharon to "mother" him. People question Warnock's unorthodox way of doing things but still haven't a clue how he fires players up and gets successive teams out of this division. Taraabt has the quality we are crying out for but the reaction on here is predictable if nothing else.

Taarabt, 29, is contracted with the Portuguese giants until 2020 but they are prepared to let him go on loan as soon as January, although both parties would prefer a permanent move.
According to the Portuguese paper Record, the former Tottenham midfielder is desperate to leave having not appeared once for Benfica this season.
He has struggled for game time and angered chiefs in 2016 when he returned to pre-season training overweight and made it common knowledge that he wanted to leave the club.
Taarabt is known to be an outspoken player and has been openly critical of several managers in the past.
He will be hoping that it isn't held against him as he attempts to return to English football.
Taarabt has fallen so far down the pecking order that he hasn't even featured for their reserve team.

I actually think if he could be arsed, and could stay fit, he'd be very effective in our system. But he can't, and he can't.
