FFS, we have on the bench - yeates, britton, lowton. We play Ertl,Monty & Quinn.
Get rid of this clown now!!

You might think a draw at Coventry is a good result - wrong! They were there for the taking having lost 4 of the last 6 and drawing the other two.

If I was you I'd be more concerned about your own team - 9th in League 1? Very poor.

I'm sure it won't have escaped your notice that we were also 'there for the taking."

Good point away from home micky. No complaints from me.

Yeates and Lowton have just recovered from injury, and we were playing against a very tall side. I've got no complaints with that.

And I echo Highury's comments regarding us being for the taking, any side who doesn't beat us (let alone score) at the minute are going to be very dissappointed.

Agree, micky first and foremost has got to make us hard to beat. I sincerely doubt whether the football for the rest of the season is going to be pretty, but if it plugs the holes in our back line, then who cares?

Got to agree i think priority yesterday was a clean sheet so that in the next game you can keep the same back 4 and go for the win.

Anyone smell pork?

Yes me, I'm having pork schnitzel for my Sunday dinner.

FFS listen to you lot getting all wound up because a fellow Blade wasn't overjoyed with the team selection yesterday. OK, Adams Out is way over the top but then again, so's all the vitriol, bang out of order :bomb:

Attention seeking will be recieved with vitriol, and thats exactly what that post was.

Have to agree, it was a good point gained yesterday when under the cosh, it will aid in building the sides confidence, we need consistencey in the team and that has to start with a consistent back four.

Yeates - coming back from injury.
Lowton - coming back from injury.

Coventry had 12 attempts on target and 9 off target. United had 3 on target and 1 off target. So to draw against a side that basically peppered us with shots like a tin duck in a shooting gallery is a disaster? You must be in need of a change of window flavour if you think that's the case.

We've shipped more goals than when The Madrid Narcolepsy Home played a friendly against Real Madrid, and we've got a set of strikers that struggle to score in a ten-bob whorehouse. A point gained in these circumstances is bloody good, yet some people struggle to wrap their minds around that. I guess it's too far to stretch such a meagre allocation.

Ha ha. Thought Micalijo had been quiet of late. Appears he has sent his evil twin in whilst he is getting some winter sun!?

'Adams Out' is attention seeking nonsense. It is no dafter, however, than the idea that a midfield of Monty, Ertl and Elpiton is anything but a recipe for certain failure. Leave aside the sensational headline and he/she has a valid point.

Depends on whether you call a clean sheet away from home a failure or not.

Pinchy, it seems just as Olle and Len have shown real signs of moving on, you're making a big move for the sites "stuck record" award.

If Adams appointment managed to bring Len and Ollie back into the fold that how can it not be a success. ;)

Personally I think they are lulling you into a false sense of security.

Alco,

Do you think that midfield will bring success. Is it one to bring the fans back? Be honest!

And the other dreadful results to which they have all contributed more than their share? Should we build our team around a midfield of such outstanding ineptitude or would you, like me, prefer MA to look for some decent footballers instead?

I thought this thread was about Adam's, but no Pinchy had to rectify that and make it about the same thing he makes every thread he posts in about.

Over and over and over and over and over, like a monkey with a minature symbol. :D

What do you think to that midfield? Would you not prefer some footballers? Do you enjoy watching them scuffle around the pitch, invariably being outplayed by the opposition and creating absolutely nothing?

I go on about it endlessly because I want our team to improve. That won't happen whilst you and others are so delighted by mediocrity.

We're supporters, what choice do we have? The powers that be dont listen to us.....never have done, never will. On the rare occasion a club does listen to its fans, it makes ludicrous decisions like appointing Kenny Dalglish as manager

The best thing to do (for your own peace of mind) is to hope for the best and accept the inevitable. No amount of standing on your soap box and beating your chest about how crap everything is, will make the difference makers pay any attention.

There is nothing wrong with airing an opinion or showing disapproval of how the club does things, but hammering home a point to those who accept that football is just a game.....well.....its a waste of time.

I meet anyone's disappointment with the same answer as I give to myself when I'm down about United....."DEAL WITH IT!"

Who's delighted?
I'd say i'm ok with the midfield until better is found and with all the best will in the world the last 3,4 or maybe even 5 managers haven't found better.
And they are far more qualified than me or you to decide these things.

I could not disagree more SCB. I do not need to list, for someone of your obvious intelligence, history's countless examples of changes brought about by the pressure of public opinion. At the parochial level of SUFC, look no further back than the departure of the former non-league, semi-pro, reserve goalie.

Why do you think Birch speaks of a need to change our style of play? Do you not think that numerous letters to the club, comments on radio, dissatisfaction voiced on matchdays and thousands of missing fans has been influential?

Mediocrity OUT!!!!!

Obviously! Our current league position and standard of play speaks volumes for their collective wisdom?

Is it really 'OK' that our midfield is outplayed week in, week out by allcomers?

But they keep making the same mistakes pinchy. Making a change every now and again to get fans back through the turnstiles is all well and good, but if that's all its for then clearly the agenda is more about holding on to gate receipts than it is about listening to what supporters actually want.

A strong core of supporters were shouting Kevin Blackwell out for a long time before he actually went (almost a full year) and the majority were shouting for Robson for about 2 or 3 months before he was removed. That isnt listening to fans.....its just bowing down to pressure before it hits your pocket.

You're obviously very passionate about the club Pinchy and that is an admirable thing no matter how you choose to put your point across.....but if the club has truly listened to its fans, you wouldnt be on here now busting a blood vessel about how everyone else is stuck in some sort of malaise.....essentially, your point is right but what are we to do?????

I was happy with the appointment of Adams as he was my first choice and I think he will do a good job in whatever circumstances he has to face, but I dont have high expectations for the club as a whole. I think we like many others, shot our boat a long time ago and have been left far far behind by the elite. Its all about simply being a Blade for me now and nothing else.
