Worth a loan for rest of the season? Maybe 31 but Duffy is 34 and many wanted him to stay. Think we could do worse with names I've seen linked..

Just a small problem who's going to pay his £120.000 a week wages?

Would be great for us if we still dared to play with an attacking midfielder.

This would be an outstanding signing, unfortunately can't see it happening.

No way he’s leaving on loan, he’ll stay for the title celebrations rather than getting a medal sent in the post.

Our style of play needs a Norwood type player, we also use a combative defensive player in Lunny or Besic constantly.
That means our forward thinking player (Freeman, Morrison or new ones in Eze/Lallana)would have to be at the expense of Fleck.
No thanks.

If we want to play with an attacking midfielder we would have to change our style or formation and I only think that would happen towards the end of a game if we were chasing a goal.

I can’t see this happening. But this would be the type of signing I would love to see. Not only would he jump into our starting 11 (replacing Lunny) but would help mentor/teach the team in what it takes to be a great/elite level team.

Only way you could get Liverpool tempted is to give them a steady 8mil offer and see if they’re happy with it.

Then you’ve got the small issue of his sky high wages.

Not as unrealistic as it might have been at the start of the season but I see him much more likely going to a more established side. Or abroad.

what an odd take when we have been broadly excellent this year.

it’s a different league and I’d say the results bare out that a different approach was warranted.

in my mind if we can get 3/4 more wins on the board we can be a bit more expansive in how we play and experimenta little.

I think there are some games we should go with a more attacking midfield line up rather than having a knackered Lundstram chasing around everywhere.

Why on earth did we sign Luke Freeman?

Id agree lunstram has dropped off a little bit with the fixture pileup a bit I think his energy and box to box ability along side fleck has been key to our success this year.

that said there have been a few games, especially when we have fallen behind I feel we’re tailor made to bring freeman on to try and change things. And I’d certainly like to see him get a run at some stage.

Never mind his performance on the ball, Lundstam looked fucked the other day.
He's not the fastest anyway but he got bullied against Liverpool.
Besic didn't when he came on.

There is no point flooding the midfield if our middle 3 get knocked about like that, we needed an outlet.
An Eze or a Brooks would have given us something different.

Perfect for us...if he’s happy to accept I would guess a 70% pay cut from his current wages?
So on that...he’s out.

Doubt he’d accept a loan either for those thinking we might be able to manage that.

Guys....we might be premier league but we still cannot afford the fees and wages of any players close to the first team at sides in the “big 6”.
We are shopping in a different pool to everyone else in the premier league bar maybe Norwich.

Be like signing Glynn Hodges

Really let a mate of mine down once when he’d promised him a couple of Liverpool tickets, so it’s a No from me.

His mother in law was in my year at my boarding school. Spoke to her at my year's reunion in May 2017.

Can’t see it, but if he’s already secured his retirement fund and wants to play more than he wants pay, it’s not impossible.
Would he have to be an attacking midfielder rather than a No10?

No thanks , no legacy value. An onion bagger has to be the priority, 23 goals scored all season. A Giroud type for the knowhow to adapt, put the chances away and who have the objective of high level games before the euro's

I honestly think Freeman was a poor signing regardless of our intended formation. He wouldn't have got into our team last season.

On his way to Brighton, I honestly think he’d be a great option for our midfield however I guess the wages would be the sticking point

I'm so on the fence about a signing like this. His experience and talent is unquestionable. But his wages will be high and he has maybe a couple of seasons left (assuming he stays fit). So torn.

He’s a player I’d would’ve been happy for us to take a punt on. But no way I’d give him a 3 year deal, ideally 1 year, 2 at a push.
