Loan signing supposably. Rumour doing the rounds on BM, imagine O'Grady and Forshaw both added to the squad, best January window ever.

Joined Wigan for a reported 4-5m from Brentford at the end of August. 10 appearances for the Latics. I'd be very surprised if they loaned him out.

He absolutely took us apart at Brentford at the beginning of last season. On form, he'd be a brilliant signing.

Can't see this happening.

It was just a guess but he seems to have only been getting minutes off the bench recently. Surely Champ clubs would be clamouring for a loan deal ahead of us but we've shown plenty of times we're still a decent draw for good players willing to drop down from higher leagues. Absolute quality player!

This is a quote person who mentioned Adam Foreshaw... in the same thread

Showing ambition again - we are once again showing some good intent!

I'd be very surprised for a number of reasons - money, dropping back to L1 and position (as good as he is, do we really need another attacking midfielder?)

If indeed a Wigan player is on his way, I'd think Waghorn (who NC has tried to sign previously) is the more likely.

I'm thinking him, Martyn Waghorn or Chris Mcann but wouldn't need a defensive mid in my eyes

Yes, looks like one guy mentioned "an attacking mid/striker from Wigan on loan", and then Foreshaw was just another guy's guess.

Could it be someone else? I find it hard to believe we are looking at more midfielders. These are Wigan's strikers, according to Soccerbase:

Think you have got the wrong end of the stick pal, it's brighton who are after Grabban

Makes sense as Hughton managed the lad at Norwich, so if he's not getting game time there and he needs a replacement for COG at BHA then the merry-go-round goes around

kin ell just read it again. What a plonker Rodney :D

Could've sworn I read that different first time around

Apologies David Pinder and others

Note to self: Get to fkin specsavers................fast

The guy on Twitter who was right on nearly everything regards Brayford reckons Middlesborough are bidding for him.

We won't sign Forshaw, if the rumour of a midfielder/striker coming in on loan from Wigan is correct then it'll be Martyn Waghorn.

Surely the only reason Wigan are wanting to get rid of Forshaw is because of his wages? I am sure Wigan can afford is wages more than we can. Yes we have made a big statement signing Brayford but we haven't become Man City/ Chelsea overnight because of it.

Forshaw was never a realistic option. Simply the result of people guessing from clues provided by an IKNer - attacking midfielder from Wigan. Waghorn would be the obvious choice if true although from what I've seen, whilst he is busy, energetic and can finish, he's certainly not the sort to lead the line as COG could. That said he'd still be an improvement.

This is an old comment I've dug up from Cloughy's time at Derby and his interest then in Martyn Waghorn,

Nigel Clough on Waghorn:

The Rams manager said it was vital to bring in a speedy forward - something he felt was highlighted in the 1-0 defeat by local rivals Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

"It [Forest defeat] showed a lack of pace in the team and in the squad," Clough said.

"We've been trying to find someone for a considerable amount of time and Martyn fits the bill. We need somebody to run beyond. We need that in the team."

We're in need of a nippy forward ourselves so he'd fit the bill in that sense, I didn't have Waghorn down as that type of player myself but I haven't seen him play an awful lot tbf.
