I have no idea why he didn't punch it but where was the defence? There was a guy unmarked about to get the ball so he had to go for it.
You could hear him shout for it clear as day. Ball was that far over his head it had snow on it when it came down.

Just has to cut his losses and get in a position to make the save. Would have been some goal for him to finish that first time. Fucked himself by being wildly out of position and shouting for a ball that he was never going to get.

Fuck me. Our scouts should be on overtime I can’t believe we are in second spot. Doyle McAtee not ours so only Iliman and Anel any good.

If you're going to come miles off your line you MUST get the ball. Rule number 1 of goalkeeping.

Looks like that page was ripped out of our goalkeepers handbooks tho as they were both culpable.

He did shout for it but not sure at whom as there was no one anywhere near Tella.

The marking will probably get overlooked here as well tbf. Bogle has followed the goalscorer into the centre of the box leaving Tella wide open at the back stick.

Judging by the passage of play I presume Berge should have been picking up Tella. Bogle then has to drop off his man, as Davies has gone walkabout, to cover the goal and its an easy finish.

Davies is likely to get most of the flak but there’s one or two others not doing their jobs that has led to the goal.

Not defending Davies, but their was a completely free mam at the far post, also Egans header was want. Defence tonight was absolute dogshit. Annoying because Burnley looked very beatable tonight.

Dont disagree with that at all, although I’m not sure he even realises theres a man there until late. He’s made a poor decision imo but he really hasnt been helped by the defence in front of him.

I thought Davies wasn’t too bad (goals aside and I know that it’s his job to prevent them before the smart arses bombard me)
He hasn’t played much and when league one Wes came into the side last season, he looked dog shit at first.

Egan's header was straight to the goalscorer, rather than head it to safety. He was as much at fault as Davies

Bogle was at fault for their first, Davies was in no man’s land trying to get a ball he was never going to reach. That said, the header across goal was going to nobody until Eagan inexplicably heads it back into the middle of the area, then Berge jumps over the shot like a five year old girl.
If Eagan had any positional awareness he’d have let the initial header go past him, turn and clear it up the pitch 🤡

In that situation where would you suggest Egan head it to? Considering that it’s easier viewing the game on tv rather than actually playing it

Anywhere, rather than providing the perfect assist for their man

I played goalkeeper. Was decent enough at very amateur level. Played keeper since being tiny so knew the role. Was horrified at the Davies flap last night. Sadly Burnley have a good screen and played it over and over again.

My lad said to me in the car on the way home that “I never saw you do anything that shit, and you weren’t very good at all”

Thanks, son

Are you free Satdi?

He's undoubtedly been poor for us on the whole but people are talking like it's a 16 year old kid we're going to have to play in the next few. He's played over 200 games and most of them at Championship level. His confidence is obviously low which happens when you're 2nd choice all season but he has performed decently at this standard in the past.

Let's not forget the only reason he's playing at all is because of the mistake Wes made.

True but you can’t deny this is like one of those movies where you think, “I didn’t see that coming, the writers are so clever.” 🤣

Well done, Adam Davies.
A few smart saves today (the Bogle gift, in particular) and a decent command of his area.
He's come in for some criticism of late, so deserves some praise today.
Felt safe with him in there. More of the same on Tuesday.

Other than the pen was a clean sheet :)

He’s played almost twice as many Championship games as Wes. You’d think he had come in from the U18s with the nervousness some have.

Followed it up with another assured display.
Some brilliant sweeping up at the back. Read the danger well and killed it.
Bristol's biggest threat was always going to be on the counter and he really helped out his defence by coming and dealing with everything with conviction.

Great stuff, an outside contender for MOTM.

Davies played well today& read the fast breaks from Brizzle well,
Maybe he’s learning from his mistakes

Very good tonight, does he now deserve to keep the shirt?
