TBF due to their long throw he did have a lot more balls in the box to deal with than usual

He was awful never came for any of the long throws into our six yard area, probably not the best idea to play your 2nd keeper against a team that you know will throw it into the area at every opportunity. Cant fault him for the 3rd goal that was Ndiaye stupidly giving the ball away and then not tracking his man. To me a keeper should be the master in the six yard box he wasn't and they got two goals from it.

He got some right grief during the game and some things weren't his fault, but he just doesn't fill me with any confidence. He collected a couple second half but need to be commanding his box more. He never looks determined. That run out when the ball went through first half where he was lucky not to make contact with Mullins. Wes isn't great on high balls but at least has a go.

I liked the look of him at Barnsley but he's not filled me with any confidence when he plays for us.

I agree that he didn’t command his box at all and if you push it away don’t push it down to the feet of their player.

Harsh maybe but there's noway he starts if I'm manager. He's an excellent shot stopper but has always struggled in the air. What did we expect if not a lot of crosses, long throws and set pieces?

He was f@@king awful today. Flapped at everything never heard him shout once, and he didn't come out of the 6 yard box. Gave his defence zero confidence. Mind you, Basham was tripe today too.

Spot on. He was giving the defence the Herbie jeebies and refused to come off his line to take command of his 6y yard box. A decent keeper has that area of the pitch in his back pocket and takes the pressure off his own defence. He was routed to his line. The first goal should have been prevented as just prior to it he punched it out (so a mass panicked scramble) when he just had to catch it into his body, the second Billy gave him a rocket for, and the third was a tad unfortunate as went through his legs. Even Egan bollockednhim for not coming at one point. He had a fucking nightmare and they knew our weakness alright and kept launching the ball in our box. We needed the ex Chelsea loaner we had who was crap at shot stopping but great in the air. Davies might be ok at shot stopping but is liability in the air. Let's hope Wes stays fit.

I'll call it now.... this time next season we'll miraculously be 2nd in the PL despite playing wank every week and Davies will be the rock our inexplicable success is built on

The chant the still unsold kop will serenade him with will be "Adam Davies, just not very good", inspired by this thread

He did his job for us today, Egan fucked it all up

Maybe deserves a thread of its own.

It was hit with some power, I know "nice height for the keeper" and all that but I've seen plenty of those go in when they're hit like that.

With the players and their attitude it's not like we'd've been out of it, but it's better to be 1-1 with 20 to go than 2-1 down with 20 to go. (Available for punditry. Send us a DM. Cheers.)

Fair play tonight. I'm never confident with him playing, but this season he's now saved penalties from Teemu Pukki, and tonight a striker who's closing in on 30 goals for the season in February. Different level I know, but he hit both pens well, and it took a solid save and strong hands to keep that out.

A penalty is a penalty no matter what level the player plays at, its almost always a 20/80% piece of football that sways towards the player taking the penalty.

It was a great save.

Two goalkeepers who should both have stayed at home. I.e. on their line. Result would have been different.

Davies, good penalty stopper and thats about it.

I have no idea why he didn't punch it but where was the defence? There was a guy unmarked about to get the ball so he had to go for it.
