All valid points but in reference to your last point the big six aren’t moaning about the amount of games really it’s the lack of revenue those games generate an expanded premier league season means all the tv contracts could be renegotiated for a higher price it’s all about the money always will be.

Every clubs lowest attendance for the past 50 years is a league cup game
E.g. Liverpool 9900 v Brentford in 84

So all league 1 and 2 play in round 1along with the bottom 8 in the championship
That produces 28 teams then add 20 prem and and 16 championship so
there's 64 in round 2 and onwards
