Why would Bournemouth do that with a player like Faivre? What reason would they needlessly do Lorient a favour like that for? To add to this, Brooks is still working his way back and Faivre is a very similar player so it would make sense to have Faivre for these few months, not loan him out. Annoys me seeing a tiny little club like them able to fuck about like this with players like him
Cos their owners also have a share in lorient apparently

highlight reel looks mint. Plays on both sides, good pass, good with the ball, good positioning. He's young, cheap, City are interested already so he has a good sell on value. He ticks a lot of boxes.

There's a lot to like in that highlights reel.
Looks quick, a good reader of the game and decent with the ball.

Hard to say because Ligue 2 is so far off the level we're going to be at, but he might be a little bit lean for the PL right now.
The step up in physicality is enormous, but that can be worked on and he looks to have a lot there to build on.

Wouldn't be surprised, given City's interest and our links to the City Group, if there aren't some mechanics being looked at in the background to make the deal work for all parties.

Against the rules
The rules have been looked at already and it is a way of taking City’s talent and developing them here without falling foul of the rules (other clubs have not exploited it yet, we are).

Did our relationship with City have anything to do with our recent signing?

Yes, partly own Troyes and something that was highlighted could be to our benefit the season (started looking last season)

Is this the same guy that Man City are linked with?

That’s a long highlights reel and he absolutely DOMINATES every player from every team.
Easily can step up another level and probably two .. i.e Premier League
He’s young and on a big upward curve.
Senegalese, so may help in getting the other Ndiaye to put pen to paper!
As you can probably guess. I’m IN

From the Prem website to clear this up "Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window.”
Thanks for clarifying. My reading is this is still possible though. Hypothetically, the City Group could buy him through Troyes and loan him to us. Wouldn't even count as a domestic loan and City would retain a privileged position to nab him long term from their feeder club if he looks the goods. Makes a mockery of the rules though.

Joining the Citi group would seem to be a waste of his early career.

He'd play in Ligue 2 which is probably the equivalent of League One with the odd exception.

Instead he could prove himself at the top level.

Plus, even of he progresses well at Troyes, the leap from them to the number one team in the Prem is huge.

How many players have City bought from League One or the Championship who have gone straight into their team? That's basically what he'd be looking at.

He would have a fair chance to become a PL starter with us.

Yeah I think the lads kidding himself if he thinks its a stepping stone into the City team.

More like a cash cow for City to farm loan fees from and then eventually sell for 5-10x what they paid for him.

Still, he would be the 4th French speaker who would be arriving. Added to Coulibaly, Gomis and Anel who must have picked up French in his with Bordeaux, we’re compiling quite the support network for la famille Ndiaye 😉

Agreed, also watched that highlights reel before bed and went to bed pretty happy. Hope we get him.

Why are everybody saying Many City are sniffing?
I've not seen them linked at all.

It's like Beerschot being linked and people saying that United are sniffing 🤔

EDIT - just goggled his name and a few news outlets have suggested Man City are sniffing. FFS

If he's that highly rated, why are Lyon considering selling?

I think our recruitment so far has been terrific with the funds we have and this chap looks great on the bits I’ve seen, but I do wonder what our plan is for January and early Feb if all our players get called up for the African Cup of Nations.

Ndiaye
Traore
Larouci (rumoured to be about to declare for Algeria)
Slimane
Ndiaye 2 (if he signs)
Coulibaly

We’d potentially lose 6 players for over a month. I’m not saying all these lads will be starters every week but that’s quite a gap to leave in the squad for a fair amount of time.

I think it's a luxury to plan transfers around that, which we can't afford.

It does explain Flecky's new contract though. 😎

Funny thing is, since Iliman broke through I've been noticing Ndiayes everywhere.

Is everyone in West Africa called Kamara, Cisse, Toure or Ndiaye? Makes Smith seem as rare a name as Cockshutt or Shirtliff!

For a board that struggles with Sharpe and McGuire, l’m impressed with how we”re getting on with these forrin names……

Since YorkBlade aint biting, im gonna give it a whirl

Not at all definite.. but a lot closer to happening then some people might think even with the City links.

Over to you T-Blade Rocket Man 🔥
Someone we’ve obviously looked at but we’re looking at loads of lcb’s at the minute. Nothing close or no bids in for anyone yet. Will be interesting how we go with this position this guy is more of a project whilst I think originally we wanted a guaranteed starter in this position.
