A year since we sold Ndiaye

A year on from leaving us for his dream to play for Marseilles he’s back in the PL presumably following a nice lucrative deal.

Loved him to bits when he played for us.

Reluctantly understood and accepted when he left.

Now I don’t care what he does with himself.

There are no Dane Whitehouse’s anymore. Bash came close, but of course had previous clubs.

Looks like Everton have found a gem :(

"Having made substitute appearances in the defeats by Brighton and Tottenham, Senegal international Ndiaye - a £15m summer signing from Marseille - capped an impressive first start for the club by slotting in Everton’s second in the 74th minute.

He collected the ball 35 yards out, turned to drive at goal, skipped around defender Joseph Olowu and completed a calm finish."

So many memories. He receives the ball under pressure with his back to goal and then 2 seconds later he's free and clear and driving into empty space.

And he's an absolute killer with that R9 shuffle.

Glad to see he's still got it.

Best case scenario, he keeps it up, Everton clamber out of the bottom 3, he gets a JTW transfer up the league, let's say Liverpool, tears it up there, and relegates Everton on the last day of the season.

He was good when he played with us, but..
- He wasn't loyal to our club
- He didn't make it in Marseille / French league
- He scored on against L2 team

Still thinking we were winners by cashing out with him.
Would I sell Anel and buy Ndiaye with the money? - Maybe

In a split second.

There are no Dane Whitehouse’s anymore.

Igor Akinfeev has played for CSKA Moscow since 2003.

Koke for Atletico Madrid since 2009.

Thomas Muller for Bayern since 2008.

Inaki Williams for Athletic Bilbao since 2014.

Dean Lewington for Wimbledon/MK Dons since 2003.

I take your point, but I did mean for the blades.

Imagine having a forward with the ability to do a step over and not fall over the ball.

Wouldn't be a bad idea I suppose.

In all seriousness though, where would Ndiaye fit into our current starting 11, obviously he'd start if we still had him but who would we drop to get him into the team.

Obvious answer would be Moore but could we play Ndiaye as the lone striker leading the line, and I'm not entirely sure that he can do that, even if he will score more goals than Moore.

What do you guys think?

He was pretty poor today, a couple of decent runs but seemed to hide from the ball a lot. Looks like he's lacking confidence. Would still take him back of course.

He was good at Championship level, didn't make it on french league and hasn't strike through in Prem (yet?), so how much we (or some Prem team) should invest on him?

Everton will never go down - too much money involved.

Everton need to seriously improve to avoid relegation this year. Apart from Southampton they're the worst starting team and can see Ipswich picking up points and Wolves improving. Could easily see Everton and us swapping places. Wages aside he must wonder what the fuck him and his agents have decided over the last 2 seasons.
