I said on a thread a while ago that this was quite a big month (largely because of the number of game) but also how big some of them are, of course you can fuck up at any stage.

I think the league is stronger this year. You look at the top 8 and all of those squads are strong and there’s Stoke and Swansea just below.

It’s making sure you beat who you should beat and handling the big moments in the big games. At the very least give nothing away. I think our squad last year would have been outside the play offs at this stage.

Investment in January is unlikely, although I’d like to think 1 signing will be sanctioned, but here’s hoping. Time will tell how the older players manage the rest of the season but we could get top 6. I’m just not sure over 3 games we could do enough to win them.

After 21 games last season we sat in 6th with 37 points, having scored 34 and conceded 26, 11 points off top. We’re currently 3rd, on the same points having scored 34 and conceded 24, 6 points off top.

We’ve not got any tighter at the back despite spending a bunce & we’re still over reliant on a couple of 30 yrs old + players for our goals, having had 12 months to sort it arrrrt.

We also still have a tendency to throw away points.

If we repeat last season’s performance in the JTW, then I suspect that come the darling buds of May, we’ll perfectly mirror last season’s finishing position.

Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose, tha knows, as they say in Heeley.

Well Real Madrid had the same points as the previous season but went on to win the champions league
And Bayern Munich won the bundesliga despite having less points than the previous season

but we are 3rd not 4th so the points spread is different this season
