If we're talking about our entire history, there's an argument to say none of them should be there.

And that's taking into account that Bassett is my favourite manager of my lifetime with Wilder second.

Currie certainly isn't our greatest ever player despite the title he's been given and the fact plenty of people still alive saw him play in probably the best United side in living memory.

Here's one to go at.
Which four people from your clubs history would be on Mount Rushmore.

For me :-

Bassett
Woodward
Currie
Wilder

My first game was in 1970, so it would be the same for me.

In many years of shit, those people have given me so much joy. TC only just sneaks it from Billy though.

If we were talking the most important figures in the history of the club, then you'd probably have to include John Nicholson who was the club secretary, de facto manager from 1899 to 1932 (his death), and possibly Sir Charles Clegg who founded the club.

If it's biggest influences on the history of the club it's likely founder, best manager (Secretary) pre WW2, best manager post WW2, best player

Sir Charles Clegg
John Nicholson
John Harris
Alan Woodward
