to all of you fabulous fans going to Bolton. 4000plus supporters , what a fantastic following, especially with the prices being as they are.
All I ask is that you get behind the team. ALL the team.....you have a responsibility to be the 12 th man..... It's no good going to boo the team the minute they put in a bad pass or miss a cross or whatever.

Please.......get behind the team, no matter what. We are supporters.....please support and please don't give me crap about the players are professionals and so should behave like professionals. I cannot think of another job where it's acceptable to shout abuse at a person....so please.....SUPPORT...
Rant over....UTB. And I'll be on my way to Ireland so shall be following on Twitter....

I don't think it's the support at away games that will be the problem . It's the home support that give me cause for concern

I.hope I'm proved wrong .
 
Is there any real need for posts such as the OP. We've got 4k going to Bolton, most paying £30 a shot, we've got a Blade as manager saying all the right things (hopeful this will transmit into how the team play), first game of a new season, all Blades want to get out of this piss-poor league, all Blades will be going to Bolton to back the team and we all want to start the season with a win. However, if we get a 4-0 drubbing like we started last season, then Blades fans would be well within their rights to have a moan about it. Hopefully this won't happen and we win.

Hate posts like the OP, I go to all United games to get behind the team, but if they put in shit couldn't care less performance (far too many of them last season) then I aint going to just obediently cheer along like a trained seal. Clean slate for Wilder and the team, if they at least put in the effort then that's a good starting point for most Blades fans.

I do not like going to away matches for the reason you have posted. Our away support are fine if we are winning but the minute we go a goal behind then all that beery optimism and cheeriness turns to vile abuse. And please don't say it doesn't because it does. How can anyone play in an atmosphere like that and dont give me , well if they play badly they deserve it. No one deserves to be abused at work,
And I don't believe that most of the players go to play shit....
And yelling abuse is counter productive as it must make the players really nervous.
Feel really strongly about this..
 
We'll be on song - no probs about that - new found optimism cos "we're not fannying around, tha kno's"
 
I think the positive blades should just counter any negativity instantly with encouraging loud cheers and/or claps. Any slight hint of negativity BAM whack it with some positivity!

So do I pal. Lovely sentiments in the OP, especially in an idealistic utopia. Back in the real world especially an honest working class city such as Sheffield, play well, show honest endeavour, even in defeat and you'll get the respect and applause of most Blades fans. Play shit with a couldn't care less attitude then expect to be told about it in no uncertain terms, most Blades don't sugar coat it (and rightly so imo) if they play shit that's how most of us will call it.

As I said in my previous post, hopefully we'll get a vast improvement under Wilder.
 
There's no reason to get on their backs at this stage of the season. The vast majority are nw or those who actually tried last season. Boo the fuck out of Coutts, he deserves it, but apart from that, there's no excuse for that kind of thing.

I've never got this argument; on the flip side, if I get my quarterly reports in on time I don't expect my boss and directors to start jumping about and hugging each other. Sport, the support of it and the nuances and foibles within are a totally different kettle of fish to the average Joe's working day.
