Only joking :D

Was a good result and apparently a good performance, unfortunately i couldn't go the early kick off cocked me up a bit. I would like to ask those who went if there were any negatives though, i am being serious i don't expect anything major because we won but maybe the fact that we missed a lot of chances means we should look at getting a striker on loan maybe? Also morgan on the bench again ? do you think it was simply not changing a winning side or speed prefers nozzy and bartley?

I drove Ollessendro back from the game this morning after we stayed in Derby overnight. He wouldn't stop bloody moaning. He'll post his tuppence later I'm sure.

My view:
Having been away in Mexico for all of August, this was the first game I have seen this year and I honestly couldn't believe what I was watching. I'm not going to get carried away after one game but the difference was there for all to see. We passed and did the simple things so well. Calve again look very good but for me the main reason for our style of play all centres around Leon Britton - he is a proper footballer and sets a great example to the rest of the team.
Tne only negative you could take out of the game yesterday was the fact that we didn't take our chances so perhaps better teams would've punished us for it. But that is the only downside I can think of. I'd stick with Ched though, I felt he was a little unlucky not to score but he was getting the chances and getting himself into those positions which is a big positive. I know he gets some stick but what people fail to remember is that he never asked for the £3m price tag we paid for him and he is still very young. He got the tag based on raw ability and if you read the transcript from the meet the manager evening Speed mentions about the fact that he hasn't actually been coached much in his career. At the moment he hasn't delivered but I trust in Speed to get things right for him. He looks like a confidence player and if he continues to get the chances he will start scoring. There's no need to go out and get a striker - Bogdanovic hasn't been given a chance yet either!

Bartley did well yesterday too - he looks very composed and looks a much better defender than he did when he first joined last season. I think Morgan was on the bench because we kept a clean sheet last game so Speed didn't feel the need to change things just because he was fit. Morgan will get back in the team when there is an injury or perhaps a lack of form and he won't let us down.

On the whole a much improved performance and if this is a sign of things to come then I am very positive about Speed's tenure

Another question to those who went: Do you think the same approach will work as well against Scunthorpe, which will be a bit different with us being at home and big favourites?

I hope so because I'll be at that game and forest the week after so after my last match (QPR) it will be rate.
