Mrs Deadbat's family all from down the road (Monmouth) so would be an excuse to see the family...erm Blades. Newport has been done up a bit but is still a dump. Rivals Worksop in worst towns in the UK for me and there are some strong contenders.

It's not the worst...as it happens I was showing someone the Roman amphitheatre at Caerleon on Saturday, nobody ever has any idea about the Roman remains there and of most of the rest of Monmouthshire is great and a well kept secret. I am often to be found on the Usk or Monnow and tributaries in the summer, fly rod in hand (no maggots)
