A great day in the history of SUFC

Couldn't disagree more. That squad had relegation written all over it from day one, an absolute shambles, and we finished in the league where you'd have expected having seen the shower of shit that the manager, any manager had to work with.

The thing is though, there are times when even the really shit teams (Bradford City, first season in the Premier League) manage to escape relegation. That Sheffield United squad which just got relegated should have been good enough to stay in the league; you and I will have to agree to disagree on that.

we've been crap for a couple of seasons now.. unfortunately for us, under bootwell we kept grinding out one nils.. as i said at the time the fans will put up with crap football if we keep winning.. trouble was that we started losing and the crap players we ended up with weren't able to step up because we were flat out already.. the side is virtually identical to that which got to the play off final except for one respect.. the whole defence had been sold or injured.. that is what made us look good.. that defence.. it has been hiding our deficiencies for years

Dreams can come true

Just shows, if you're a good boy and keep working hard things can happen.

Can it get any better? Yes it can.

Birch and Adams gone. Only Monty to go now, and I have a hat-trick of dream exits from my beloved Blades.

Here's to a great summer and renewed optimism for all Blades.

A very poor trolling attempt which doesn't deserve its own thread.

Cannot see any reasons to be optimistic at all.
Club in free fall, no money, huge wage bill that still has to be trimmed.
Just because several of your hate figures are leaving doesn't mean the malaise is cured.
You may have got some of what you wished for but is that the answer?
I suspect nothing like the answer.
Looks to me that this will be a long haul and the wilderness will be our home for a long time to come.

Still you can whack one off when you see Monty playing for Leeds in the Champ and Doyle and Collins turning out for us in League 1 ( or 2). Happy Days Mic?

Bye, Bye Alehouse. Thanks for nothing. You will always be remembered for your total and utter incompetence.

Ha ha. Classic Mic. Not looking likely for the century in 24 hours, but congrats on a nifty fifty in a short space of time. As always, Mic casts the rod and there are biters everywhere!?

Genuine tiresome shit. But nevertheless, well done.

It's certainly genuine Houso - I said from day one Adams is a joke manager - steeped in 1980's hoofball - and blow me down, I was right.

Wasn't actually directed at you Mic.

Mic/ balham, yeah my last sentence was broken biscuits (Russian beer and vodka). What I meant was that Micky was still backed by the club with cash for signings even though they never really gave him a chance. He was the fall guy and they well and truly shafted him.

It's ironic that McCabe talks of not making the mistakes of backing managers with loanees when in reality the loanees on the most part have offered as much as the permanent signings.

Dark days ahead unless McCabe pulls something out of the bag....

Do,s nobody remember the late 70s early 80s Cambridge/Walsall games relegation to the 3rd div then to the 4th! Harry Haslam/ Martin Peters good job we only went for a ruck and the day out so dont delude ourselves this is something new.

So its another season lets focus on burying the filth and the mi ducks

I always have Cambridge away as my most disappointing United experince on so many levels. Haggis did ok out of it though
