Bye, Bye Alehouse. Thanks for nothing. You will always be remembered for your total and utter incompetence.

even by your standards that's a bit harsh mic!.. i'm not one for sentiment where the blades are concerned as you know but we were down before he arrived.. i posted it on here in january when we were 8/1 to go down at betfair.. i didn't have the heart to put the money on it.. i think he should have been given chance to redeem himself .. we were 3/4 way down the plank as it was

Even if we're better off without him, how can getting rid of a manager for the Fourth time this season be construed as a great day in our history?

Hyperbole gets more replies. There, I even did it myself :)

The utter opposite to a great day is how I feel.

Total disarray, broke, 3rd tier again, about to appoint our 5th manager in less than a year, threadbare squad. I'd love to know what is great about that, just because a failed manager has got the boot.

have we ever been in a bigger shambles as a club than where we are at the moment?!

Im actually rather sad. Micky is a Blade and Id love to have seen him do well with us.

Sad but happy.

Sad because he is a Blade and I am sure he did his best but unfortunatly 4 wins in 6 months gets you the sack and rightly so.

Happy because we have done it at the right time and it gives the new manager to have litrally a fresh start with a pre season and a lot of players being shipped out and in.

The next manager gets as long as Micky without a ball being kicked.

Have we ever sacked a manager pre-season ?

If he lasts that long.

I'm absolutely ecstatic to be honest. It's a shame for Micky of course, but he wasn't the right man, and t was the right thing to do in my opinion.

The new guy can now start afresh, and go into the new season with hopefully a lot of goodwill

As a bloke I'm very sad for Mickey.
But, sentiment means nothing in football and if this means a more measured and thought out dictat from McCabe then it may be a very good move. Of course his cv for picking managers equals mine for picking horses but by the law of averages he must get it right very soon.
We must be able, still, to attract some talent.

I agree with many. He seems a genuine decent bloke and it must hurt like hell as he wanted to work and so did I despite my reservations. To listen to his pride in takng the job/talking of his late father and his disabled brother showed how much he wanted it to work at the Lane and a small part of me thinks he is the latest scapegoat but ultimately if he was that good of a manager he would have got more out of the side than he did.

I was not in favour of the appointment for football reasons but wanted him to prove me wrong and stick two fingers up to me and others who felt he was not up to it. I take no pleasure that it did not work out and like others it is anither dark day as it shows what a shambles the club is. However, I do think it was the right decision. Ultimately the board and McCabe are to blame for 95% of the mess but Adams did nothing to suggest he could take this club forward. As others have said he has the worst stats of any manager we have ever had and despite the squad being very poor; he still should have got enough wins/results to keep us up in my opinion. I am not surprised he has gone as it just did not work out but only masks a lot of problems at the club and I have no confidence McCabe will get the next appointment right after his awful record in this area but I do repeat that Adams did not convince in any way he was a manager that could take this club forward. Nearly very other club (whatever the mess behind the scenes) would have taken the same decision. Football is a results business and he did not get results.

With respect, anyone who thought MA was still going to be at the club come the new season is delusional. It's only due to the farce that has been the '10-11 season that has meant he kept his job till the end of the season.

It's the sensible move. Give the new man a pre-season to try and rebuild with a clean slate.

However, god only knows who McCabe, Birch et al will consider next, and whether they're given any money even if it is the right man.

UTB

Absolute crap Mic... more like your complete incompetence to realise any sort of reality
1 more to the shite decisions of Mcabe,
Who in their right mind is going to come to a club with no transfer kitty, useless sacks of shite as players, and not even any chance of shifting the shite players to get any more in
We are now well and truly fucked and Mic you have seem to have no comprehension of the years left on Adam's contract of which Mcabe would have to of paid off 500K possibly? More money we don't have gone

League 2 awaits blades

The only reality is his pathetic record and our relegation.

I'll be surprised if he gets one year paid up.

We dont know whether compensation/contract's were inked with Adams that had lesser amounts paid or wiped if we went down though?

Agree in some ways going to be hard to attact a manager but you ask any manager at any of the other clubs in league one/two if they could come to the Lane despite the things you have mentioned and possibly asisde from Mr Megson; they would all come. That is my honest opinion. The club is a still a big club and still has lots of potential but you ask managers of clubs like Rochdale, Bury etc to compare the training facilities, infrastrucutre, crowd, stadia etc and there is no comparions. However, as you say they would have a very hard job with the poor playing staff they are left with. Someone like Keith Hill (not saying he would be my choice) prob started woith far worse at Rochdale. Ditto for Eddie Howe. So a manager who has an eye for a bargain and get best out of players could still have some succes even with the crock of shite we have left.

Yes, let's celebrate. We really are shit, crack out the champers.

Only just noticed?

We have been shit for a long long time.

If we had put up some fucking fight in the relegation battle then by all means give Adams a go in League One but 4 wins out of 24 games and you seriously think he deserves to stay? He was out of his depth which would explain why he needed the expert advice of Bassett for the last few months.

I'd be even more suprised if you aren't calling for the news mans head by September

I just find it incredible that someone can get stick for being happy that a manager with such a poor record has been moved on. Such is way in the wacky world of clapperville.

Yep, I'm far from the sentimental type but it would have been nice to see him prove a success with us.

As to it being a great day well what a sad life you must lead, our club's in complete dissarray, the scumbag who pulls the purse strings manages to deflect the blame again by making Adams the scapegoat and wahey, everyone's happy and McCabe can be good old Uncle Kevin once more.

The only reality is his pathetic record and our relegation.

What did you expect? He joined a pathetic club, a relegated club (and don't let the league position when he joined fool you, we were already fucked by then) and he did all he could with the complete and utter shit at his disposal to try and keep us up.

A great day? Laugh my fucking tits off

And before you say owt, I really don't think you can label me a clapper, in any of my guises.

strange that the people only had 1 reason for wanting to keep Adams.

1. Stability

That is just sad in itself for us as a club

Yep, because upheaval and chaos worked wonders for us last season...

It's not clapperville.

Just looking at the wider picture

Well said Horace. The club's a fucking mess and this clown is happy. Still, won't be long before we get someone else in and he'll be fucking miserable again.
