Seems odd that he's not rated higher by the fans.
That is odd. I wonder if we judge him by different standards. Because we know what a good player he is I wonder if we judge him based on our expectations of his ability rather than purely based on that game and how he compared to the other 10 playing.

Hamer is a frustrating player at times. It's sometimes difficult to overlook that he's so careless in possession. Right back to our first game: he was woeful at Preston but scored from 35 yards and was then in the Sky discussion for POTM.

That said, if he could pass he'd be out of our reach. Bit like Didzy and finishing.

Opta has Gus fifth in the division for “chance creation”; whilst Whoscored have our best players as Gus (11th best in the division on 7.10) Vini (13th on 7.09) and Burrows (26th on 7.03)

Mate cmon that was a stock standard cross as you'll see.. unless you want a slow floaty cross that the player has to create own power on or gives keeper a chance to pluck out of the air.

Not sure why you don't think he had time to react...it wasn't crossed from point blank next to Cannon but from wide outside the box.
It was one of the most powerful crosses I can recall. It may have been accurate, but not easy to react to in the blink of an eye.

It was Cannon who played the pass to Brewster, but I wouldn't call it a key pass, just nudged the ball on it's way.

Pretty sure even my gran could do that pass.
Interesting how we all see things differently. My take was he could have done 3 or 4 things with that pass. But he showed good control and vision to lay it off to Brewster. He didn't just nudge it on.

A great pass from Hamer though.

In 3 matches he's played a part in 2 goals that have won 4 points, despite playing in a side with no attacking pattern

Fair enough if that's what your going to reward Cannons input into the team for.

Not for me tho mate.
