A few observations from the stats (Mackems)

Thanks for the prompt (from close by on the M1…)

How about:

- our creativity was poor. We managed just 4 key passes (Hamer with 3), 3 accurate crosses (Hamer, Burrows and Peck) and just 1 successful dribble (Brooks). These were lower than usual, although we created 3 big chances to their 2.

- Vini with joint most tackles (5) and a pass completion rate over 96% (only player over 90%) and two aerial duels, performed strongly. In comparison Peck didn’t win a single tackle with a pass completion rate of just 72%.

- Defensively our full backs had most successful defensive contributions (Choud with 11, Burrows with 10 and some attacking contributions) and Anel won joint most tackles. Robbo didn’t win a single tackle. Sometimes that means they read the game well and made interceptions instead. But Robbo also made no successful interceptions either. His performances have been hard to take or explain - with Wilders only line that we should ignore all stats.

- Moore won 10 aerial duels - double anyone else, and joint most shots. His error was catastrophic but his contribution before then deserves recognition. As does Campbells exquisite finish.

- our xG was 1.46 to 0.71 so we were unlucky. But there were some poor performances.

Onwards !! Up the Blades !!

Best summary I’ve seen so far. Take the (horrible) emotion out, and we definitely did enough to win. But, of course, we didn’t win.

Thanks Cool, not quite as miserable as I thought, although understandable and concerning that our top stats performers in Vini and Hamer are likely to leave.

Peck has been great but was poor yesterday. Campbell never seems ably to get fit. We really need Arblaster back for the preseason both as captain and midfield dynamo.
