Most of us would have taken top at the New Year if it was offered at the start of the season.

The long awaited 7 homes games out of 10 is now over. Three points dropped against Walsall and 2 points dropped at Charlton in the three away games. We must all be pleased with that. However we've not killed off teams apart from Swindon and the second half performance at Chesterfield.

I think Wilder and Knill will be aware of this and serious recruitment will take place in January to give us that killer touch.

Wanting a Scunthorpe win to give a wider gap to third place at the end of December could prove foolish if Bolton finish top. Those three points could put Scunthorpe second at our expense come May.

We won't know the best outcome of the second half until much later in the season, so the sensible wish today is both dropping points.
