It's going to be exhausting having a referendum on Wilder every game. He's almost certainly going to be here for the season, we will likely finish mid table at best, some fans will think we can do better and some fans will think he's the best man for the job. Unless we get involved in a serious promotion or relegation battle, people aren't going to change their opinions on him. It will just be fans feeling they've been proven right after every victory or defeat
Indeed. Exhausting.

I will say, fabulous result today and we capitalised on a team in a bit of a state atm. That's most unlike us and was refreshing.

Some of the players really showed their quality and we never looked in too much danger. Good subs at good times.

Hope we can kick on.

everyone was class playing for each other. Diaz is getting back to his best, he just needs to add goals.
I think it suits us more diaz and chong on there natural wing getting the crosses in from the lines quicker with 2 lads in the box

Still want Wilder sacked. Dinosaur. Wasted money on crap like Bamford, Kitching, BBD, Phillips when we should be signing young foreign players from abroad and league One; the money is there, Wilder's just a puppet for this board and wants to sign his pals for drinking games as they get the culture of the club.

In a way disappointed we've won, as he stays in a job now for longer.
I’d like to construct an intelligent answer to that but it’s impossible. Just a pathetic post.

For anyone wondering this is what's known as sarcasm!

A fantastic win and maybe our fans will start to realize we have a very good manager
We have a bog standard championship manager with a bog standard championship squad. Which is why the performances in he first part of the season were utterly unacceptable, where we were showing in most models as being one of if not the worst team in the league.

Been a marked improvement in how many shots we are giving up, and nothing to remotely complain about today but I'd like to see us put the ball in dangerous areas more and fucking SHOOT

Oh, and play Donovan

If we want to be funny about it, you've selected 3/4 of the few players who HAVEN'T been a waste of money... what about Shackleton, Cannon (not a complete waste but not far off), Choudhury et al?

We SHOULD sign young foreign players and players from league one, what sort of backwards point is that?

He DOES want to invoke British culture in the club hence why he used Everton and David Moyes as examples for us to aspire to.

You'll get some likes sure, because his band of merry men can't wait to jump on board, but this is our first 'big' win + performance of the season. After 11 games. Hardly time to start beeping your 'look at me I was right' horn.

I don't agree on the first part re Wilder, obviously. In my opinion he's a top championship manager. The squad is mid table, definitely. However if we can stay injury free and hopefully a January incoming then we have a chance of pushing play offs.

Tactically it's not always free flowing football, granted. At times there's some good crosses coming in but I do still think we lack an out an out presence in the box. A James Beattie, Brian Deane type. I'm sure we'd all agree there! But it's unlikely with current budget to find anyone remotely near that type of quality.

Hence my last reply to you, maybe if we could broaden our horizons in who we sign we might just find that player?

Re the foreign market, I do believe that this summer wasn't the time to look at that market with a clearly reduced budget. We didn't have the budget for signing some decent players from league one like the forward Bristol signed from Port Vale who was injured today. Think he cost £5m?

Hopefully next summer we'll go out and sign some permanent players not loans and yes, utilise the foreign market definitely.

Disappointed we’ve won????? Ffs. Wanker post.

imight not be pleased with wilder. i was on the out of the swingometer. but ive got to praise him. if you told me that we'd be 11th 2 points off the playoffs. considering how we've played. i wouldve never believed you.

so impressed at his abilty to overachieve. we are certainly not the 11th best team in the championship on the 11 games that we've seen

How about Mellow Yellow, to celebrate our win in Yellow/Lime Green?

This is where I am on Wilder. I have always defended Chris to the hilt and really don’t want him to tarnish his legacy with this club. But in saying that, I certainly wouldn’t cry if the decision was made to replace him.
Yes, the owners have conspired to make a monkey out of Wilder, but if he to survives through Christmas we ALL need to get in behind him and the team.

I'd prefer a change

We’ve got circa 12 senior players under contract come next summer. If you want change, it’ll be coming by the boatload come July 2027. Hopefully by then, the mess off the pitch will have been resolved and we can start moving forward a bit more long term.

More generally and not re: metalblade ‘s post I don’t think there’s a huge number of fans who are Wilder aficionados, in fact I think that trope is a little overplayed. Most just don’t advocate making a change if we’re bumping along mid-table when everything is so messy elsewhere in the club. If we were in the bottom three, that assessment would probably be different. But IMHO it’s a holding position and ultimately an up & down season on the cards. More strategic decisions will probably follow come the summer.

Im definitely a Wilder aficionado I admit! Is there anything wrong with that?! I just appreciate how good the guy is at what he does, Tony Mowbray similar. That's how I genuinely see it, some might find that annoying or over the top but there you go.

I felt the same about Dave Bassett who remains my favorite manager till this day. Where this club would be without Basset and Wilder I shudder to think to be honest, especially giiven the total crap show that we normally have for owners or for owners decision making, Bryan Robson appointment for example!

I have to give a shout out to Warnock too but I just can't put him in the same favourite category as Basset and Wilder for many reasons.

Anyway, on we go to a more secure mid table position!

Was just reflecting on my original post ZLB which as I've explained was sarcastic and was meant as a dig at those that have criticised Wilder regularly but actually in hindsight my post was divisive and it's not what we need right now to be saying when we've won "Told you so" etc as I did. I do believe Wilder will prove to those that want him gone that he is the right man for the job still but what we need now is a united fanbase and all I did was rub people up the wrong way. So I genuinely wanted to apologise for that actually.

It was said in frustration. I did it also after the win v Lincoln but it won't be repeated whatever the results going forward.

Yes it has! Lesson learned hence the apology. I think most people got it was sarcasm saying that but as I said just now, it was just rubbing people up the wrong way. Not my finest hour, definitely.
I hope you won't mind me saying it's given me a good chuckle or two as yet another poster fails to get the joke and piles on.

I can fully relate to the frustration that gave rise to your sarcasm.

I read your original post and laughed. It was funny in the context in which it was offered.

Your apology was class. I hope a few others on here might consider your words carefully, and rethink their behaviours.
