I don’t think most of the Wilder outlets will be upset. A few yes but most are blades fans first and foremost. I say it to the extremists at both ends, why bring it up on match day? Enjoy the moment and keep the criticism for more sensible occasions.

Oddly we have some seemingly angry posters claiming the selection was forced on Wilder so it’s some kind of fluke and others happier whilst crowing that some Blades have been proved wrong.

Interestingly those types don’t seem to mention much about the actual game.

Still want Wilder sacked. Dinosaur. Wasted money on crap like Bamford, Kitching, BBD, Phillips when we should be signing young foreign players from abroad and league One; the money is there, Wilder's just a puppet for this board and wants to sign his pals for drinking games as they get the culture of the club.

In a way disappointed we've won, as he stays in a job now for longer.
For anyone wondering this is what's known as sarcasm!

A fantastic win and maybe our fans will start to realize we have a very good manager

It is a good win. However you’ve made that claim even when the performances were dire. Sometimes criticism is reasonable.
Criticism yes, but to have a poll on this forum that is in favour of Wilder leaving over staying says it's beyond constructive criticism. The fact Wilder was pointing to himself and shouting at the fans after the win at Blackburn "Trust me"! says everything you need to know.

But I've said my but. Particularly after the defeat to Fleetwood where I was getting a wave of criticism for saying let's not sack Wilder.

You may need to step away from watching united for abit if you start wanting us to lose games.
You've got to always want United to win no matter the situation.
It was a joke aimed at critical fans. See other posts! I should have put sarcasm at the end of the post but that would lessen the impact! 😂

Don’t get too excited when we win, or piss the bed when we lose. Mid table innit.
Mid table this season means a win or two away from play offs. Which is certainly an improvement on last season which is all that can realistically be asked for

Are we like prime Barcelona? No. It's the championship even some of the best sides in it are pretty uninspiring to watch.

Some of the more hysterical stuff on here would be funny if I wasn't convinced some blades enjoy it when we lose. Weird form of supporting that's for sure.

He deserves criticism sometimes and he gets it as he should. No way will anyone convince me to be a fan boy for any manager and support them over the team. They make screw ups as we all do in life and career. In my opinion recently he’s screwed up more than he used to. He’s gone safe and lost his bottle. In my honest and humble opinion.

I don’t know what he saw in the team he picked aside from he had to cope with no RB, but I’ll bet you your house that had Choudhury not been sent off, that team today would have had him in it and the result would have been different. Is that a fluke? Possibly.

I’m not a fan boy, some, not all are a bit peculiar in their zealous claims for him (now not years ago) but l’d say l can be pretty balanced based on what l see. I doubted the selection but l enjoyed what l saw, the effort from everyone, even those who didn’t have a great game (BBD and Chong) and l give credit to Wilder for that, just as l’ve been critical when his decisions have cost us.

You can express the opinion that if Choudery would have been fit and played the result would have been different but as that didn’t happen it’s a bit one eyed to suggest that’s a fair reason to knock him. It’s nonsense.

Not knocking him. Straw man argument.

This is why I didn't want Wilder back a 3rd time, he was always going to split the fan base, and then you have idiots who would rather post to annoy others with a different view than post about the game.
I'd prefer a change, but I can't criticise anyone today including Wilder. I think we got it spot on today, certain players who have received criticism this season stepped up and played well. Baby steps at the moment but going in the right direction. We can still improve though and will have to the last three opponents have not been that good.

The poll means nothing of the sort. It’s people’s opinions. Not everyone who voted is some zealot. Just a few on each side of the debate. Wasn’t the wave of criticism more about your slavish devotion that brooks no acceptance of any negativity towards him whatsoever.

I don't understand your post there Sean, sorry. The last part really

I guess I'm one of those idiots. I'll take that comment given I had a pop at those who see things differently to me., fair enough. I think at the end of the day, it's all about opinions. I've stuck up for Wilder through the first spell when he left, although I was bitterly disappointed he decided to leave.

I thought he was ridiculously sacked the last time.

Im still behind him now but I won't be making another sarcastic post actually because it is divisive. However when we've got fans criticising him every week, especially after a loss, and in my opinion who can't see how bad a hand he's been dealt it does annoy me. So today I let loose a little.

We need to back Wilder because he really is our biggest asset in my opinion. They'll come a time when it's time to move on but that is definitely not now.

Which goes some way to explain the child like devotion.
I just have an option like we all do that counts the same as the next man. It's not even a case of loyalty or devotion, it's a case of he's a very good manager and whilst not perfect I do believe he's ideal for the situation we're in. Given time and hopefully some resources I do believe we'll be nearer the top than the bottom with Wilder. But the emphasis on resources is obviously essential. Not likely to be this season although maybe a decent loan player in January if you believe in local press reports.
