A win's a win, but it could and should have been a proper thrashing.

Do you think? A while ago but I thought second half we really dropped off. Can only remember a Henderson header that Grant saved.

I just think we should have been more professional. It's understandable that they came out in the second half a different team, but letting them get two back was disappointing.

We took our foot off the gas big time at the break and the Tudgsy early goal gave them the impetus ,I'll take a win anytime or under any circumstances against blue & white shite but we really had an opportunity to give them a proper arse holing that day if we'd come firing on all cylinders second half .

The only derby that pops out when I think about it was the 3-1 and the Brown goal of the century, my all time fav.

Edit - Message to brain - how can you forget Bobby Davison! Just that Brown goal, could watch it all day.

Great find – and your own thread too. We really should have put that one to bed, but I agree with my verdict at the time when the other lot were coming out with "we won the second half" rubbish, as though that somehow made up for their loss. I'd take a similar game on Sunday in a heartbeat.

Went in at half time thinking that this was going to be a storied night in the clubs history, and by the end we’re hanging on for the win..

Do recall watching that in the local, incredibly bullish at half time, half an hour later, not so much. This is fine

Fuck it, we beat the Wendies, I don't care about the scoreline. 3 nowt at haif time, I went for a walk to the Kop bogs and the atmosphere was electric. Obviously it was a bit edgy when they pulled 2 back, but we bagged the result. Went out in Sheffield for a few jars after, we walked past all the grunters behind a line of police, gave the filthy slags a few gestures and strode triumphantly onto West Street. Bloody good night.

Although we had a huge half time lead and wanted to go on to get a fourth and fifth, I don't recall us putting in a particularly good performance. My memory is their defence didn't show up first half and all we had to do was put the ball in the box three times and didn't work for our goals at all. They dominated the second half but couldn't find a third goal.

Must've been sickening for them. Imagine the Wolves playoff final with hope up to the very end.

I'd tek a scrappy 1-0 win. Any win over the piglets is good enough for me.

I had a less than satisfactory experience that night. I missed the first half because of work. Watching the second half was not a fun experience.

(Mind you, watching a Derby never is unless we score. Too nerve wracking)

I was laid next to the pool in Cancun relying on text updates as it appears the Mexicans aren't reyt bothered about the Sheffield derby.
