Only time I ever went to Charlton was when we lost 1-0 under Warnock in the championship. Think it was the year they went up as champions. John Robinson scored the winner after being lucky to stay on the pitch after a couple of bad tackles if my memory serves me correctly.

Remember this game well as Nick Weaver is a mate of mine, and a Wednesday fan and ex-player.......

This Saturday will be my second visit. My first was the 3-1 defeat in December 1978. I had told the teacher on duty at my school that I would be going to Newbury for the day. Instead I went to watch us at the Valley and stood on that massive terracing see below). Dave Shipperley (Neil's dad) headed Charlton into the lead, Imre Varadi equalized. Mike Flanagan's late brace won it for Charlton
