That's the number being touted by " football business analysts " at Sheffield Hallam University in relation to how much additional income promotion to the Championship has won us . I'm not sure I agree with this .

If we saw 20000 Season Tickets sold for next season at an average of £ 300 each that's £ 6 million , £ 3 million more than this season .

20000 ST''s sold is a very optimistic estimate , so where's the additional £ 4 million coming from ? TV ? Gate revenue ? Merchandise ?

Answered your own question.

I was hoping I'd missed something glaringly obvious SB , that someone would direct my attention to . An additional 7 million sounds great doesn't it , but there's not a chance on earth we'll see that kind of additional revenue .

I thought it was going to be a thread regarding the combined weight of those people at the bottom of the Kop.

Didn't realise it was Flecks transfer fee, silly me.

What's the prize fund for Div One Champions?

All players left after the summer will want a pay rise, anyone coming in won't be on Div One wages.

Pigs have been on TV more than Man U this season. Bet they've had 8 tv games at least

Additional revenue from away games must be worth a few bob. Lots of 20k+ crowds instead of 5k. Guaranteed FA Cup 3rd round tie at least. Two derby games v the Pigs, two v Leeds, two v Barnsley.

I'd imagine sponsorship plays a big part. There is so much more exposure in the Championship compared to League one. Will manly be the telly though. Plus away followings will be up about 200 % I bet

7 million sounds a nice bit of money for us so I'll just go with what those that have done their homework say. Along with that the increased revenue allows the Prince to invest more without breaking FFP, happy days

The only revenue from away games would be from official travel, unless the rules about home clubs keeping all the gate money have changed this week.

An additional seven million would take us to around £18m which seems a tad high.

I'd imagine we'll get considerably more from sponsorship deals.

The numbers just don't add up . Increased revenue from bigger away followings contribute very little too . Last season average away followings in league 1 were approx 700 . In the Championship they were approx 1400 .

The overwhelming majority must come from sponsorship as all the other revenue streams won't get us close to an additional 7 million .

Plus CHLs example needs the VAT stripping out, so the TV and prize money must be significantly higher to acieve a £7m uplift.

Will the shed company bexable to afford the new advertising rates for a ball boy throwing the ball back?

Didn't know they kept the lot

Still, we can look forward to lots more away fans at the Lane

The increase in away followings isn't as big as we all think .

I was surprised at your figure of 1400. I suppose we tend to look at the away followings of the two Sheffield clubs and Leeds and expect other clubs at CCC level to be up around there. Looking at Leeds and the Pigs followings this year, there are some clubs taking very few away if that's the average.

The away followings will be bigger than usual next season because most of them haven't had the chance to come to BL for a long time.

Clubs receive a percentage of away tickets sold prior to the day of the game I believe. Think it's 5%.

Problem is, if it were as high as £7m a season extra, that would only cover the losses we are making currently.
So, with the words "game changing" still ringing in the ears, and the latest "club on the up" expectations are high that there will be some substantial in real terms investment in the playing side.

Realistically, I would be surprised if an extra £5m was spent on wages a season, plus a transfer fee kitty of 2-3 million. Game changing? Significant?
Probably not, we will be relying on Wilder making some magic to be something of a force next season. So I'm positive we will be mid table at least, and Chris will find a way of getting results.

TV money isnt bad in the Championship. Reckon we will get 6 or 7 games.

Can't be much more room for additional sponsors unless they start charging for going for a dump and sponsoring every Richard the Third!

I want to see those electronic advertising boards around the ground

The fees from selling Fleck, Coutts and Freeman of course ;):)

On last years evidence it's more likely to be young uns. Lads with great promise somebody will pay a reasonable amount for to develop or take a risk with whilst we avoid the risk and use the cash for wages. If we don't get investment CW might just decide he has to keep them though. Difficult job this managing.
