12-15 points. 12 points satisfactory, 15+ a result. Planning for Jan starts now but if we're only a few wins off the plays offs I'm sure the board will pull the trigger on a few decent loans and maybe a perm.

Realistically we won't have incomings for the first two games imo

Will be the Charlton game on the 17th any potential incomings play

It depends if you class Bamford and Riedewald as January transfer window signings, if they do get contracts. If so they should be the first to put pen to paper then we, get rid of Barry, Godfrey and Bindon with looking to replace by Mid-January with 3 additionals to refresh the squad. It's how good a Stoke we get over the 2 fixtures as they could easily define how we are looking and also half the points on what is the least "acceptable" place to be at. Beat them at the lane on Saturday and be full steam into Norwich and see what happens after that. Either way the block of fixtures from now until the FA Cup on 10th January is key. 8 games, 2 at home against opponents currently below us (Norwich & Oxford), it won't win or lose the season for us but it will go a long way to deciding the end. If we stick to what we are good at and not make the costly errors early doors, most of the sides aren't great, they do enough to beat what is there or get a lucky break. We need to create our own luck and hopefully we will be there or there abouts

Stoke like Boro, PNE, WBA, Bristol city, even Brum have all been on good runs, but can they sustain it much longer, nearly all those are perennial bottlers and we might be meeting them at just the right moment, we need to capitalise now we are looking more confident though this, like Leicester is a test of where we are, non of them will be as confident facing us now as they would have been a couple of weeks ago

Stoke (H) = 1
Norwich (A) = 3
West Brom (a) = 1
Birmingham (h) = 0
Wrexham (a) = 1
Stoke (a) = 0
Leicester (h) = 3

Total = 9 points

Have you put that acca bet on now or are you waiting for me to do it?
For me personally for some reason I don’t think we will do too good away at Wrexham and more likely to pick up the point(s) at home to Brum.

I am really struggling to get a read on the team at the moment. We have undoubtedly improved, but we have also just beat 3 poor sides, and the 2nd half against Leicester was horrible after they woke up.

I think we might beat Norwich, West Brom and then Oxford when we play them again but I can't call the rest of the fixtures from this tough run coming up.

It's a hard run of games, including Leicester away, so we've started with a great bonus

If we can be around 5 points off the top half by January we'll have done well

If we want higher quality loans we might have to do a bit better

I think we'll get about 9. We're due to rack up a few draws

Play offs are on.

Ipswich are still 2nd favourites for the title and sit 7th and we are just 9pts off them. Ipswich went 2nd for a bit last weekend. This league is twisting and turning every week.

Very much agree. Heard it loads of times how we were often lucky last season and how this season we’ve been unlucky

But you find the best teams often seem to be lucky and teams near the bottom can always seem to highlight bad luck.

On Saturday our 1st goal involved luck. A goal mouth scramble with Winks mis kicking it and the ball falling nicely to Cannon but TC created that good luck by being around the ball anticipating a ricochet. Even our 2nd and 3rd goals had an element of luck. They headed the bal clear and it fell perfectly for COH and Peck for the shot but both our players found space on the edge of the box creating potential luck.

Regards our play-off chances it’s still too early to make predictions.

However it is noticeable that virtually every team in the Championship is average, all capable of beating each other.

Think the standard near the bottom is probably the highest it’s been in years but the standard near the top is the lowest it’s been in years. Looking like a really low points total will reach the play-offs so even after a terrible start we still have a realistic chance of promotion.

Dont think we need to be brilliant to win any games. This league is all about consistency and if we can put in 8 consecutive “above average performances, think that 8 consecutive wins is do-able.

Equally, Leicester’s two goals were fortunate for them that Cooper is clearly struggling with mobility and confidence on his body 😟
