Where will we be 5 seasons from now?

Next season - I am expecting promotion, be it auto or playoffs. (auto pllleeeeaaasssseee!!).
Season 2 - Championship. Think we will spend a bit, but not too much. Don't think we'll struggle but think it'll be a mid table steady season.
Season 3 - Spend a bit more. Playoff challenge - make it in but don't make the final.
Season 4 - Pretty much stick with same team as last season with some fine tuning. Playoffs again - at last we win and are promoted!
Season 5 - Prem. Spend on some key players. It's a struggle but we stay up.

Chuck in a decent cup run in season 3.

I'd take that as a five year plan anyway!

Next Season - With Clough leaving in the summer to take over at Norwich, Morgan takes the reigns after a good start to the season but we fade away and end up 12th.
Season 2 - Another mediocre season, crowds dwindle and we narrowly avoid relegation
Season 3 - The prince is found to have been money laundering, sent to prison, we are put in a transfer embargo selling all our best assets and we finally leave league 1....out of the trap door.
Season 4 - A play off surge in league 2 fails once more.
Season 5 - Chris Porter takes over as manager and we storm league 2 with a record tally of 120 points.

Whilst I also feel confident about next season, I feel less confdent about your prediction of just 3 years in the Championship. That league gets harder and harder every season as more money filters down from the prem. I can see 5 or 6 years in the championship at least, maybe more. But agree it depends very much on the cash the prince splashes

I know String - when I wrote it I thought hmmmm thats a bit optimistic ha ha!!! But I'm still wearing my red and white specs and feeling confident of the Prince splashing some cash - come on, other teams do it, why can't we??

It is hard to predict to be fair,
I would expect us to get promotion next season, failure might have big consequences for the club regarding the prince and his commitment with sticking by the club at this level.
Clough should have a great deal of knowledge at championship level so hopefully if we do go up he will know where to strengthen for another promotion push.
As for a prediction i think
1st season we will go up from league one
2nd season top half of the table finish in the championship
3rd automatic to top division
I would expect this to be the plan from the board, optimistic or not they want us up there and who knows what will happen if we reach the top division, if he wants Europe then:
4th season mid table finish in the prem
5th season top 5 .......
Very optimistic indeed but that is roughly the plan is it not.

Average Championship club for me.
After an initial period where the Prince chucks a little bit of cash at it we will need a further boost of funds to move to the next level which wont be forthcoming as usual.
Then we will have to listen to how much the club owes the Prince and how we should all be grateful to him.

I can't remember any other type of Chairman in my lifetime.
