Jim Brown was our best keeper for the 1970s decade but I was surprised to see on youtube early this week that two of L**ds goals in our 5-1 defeat in Sept 1974 should have been dealt better by Brown! I was at that match and dont remember cursing Brown for these two goals (the 1st and 3rd). He did win POTY for the 1974/75 season (West Ham's 2nd goal in our 3-2 win in March 1975 was a howler by Brown!) and won a Scotland capI was at that Oxford game and remember the shock when we heard Hodgy was dropped. Well overdue though in truth as you say. Must say Hope appeared from nowhere to us at the time but he was excellent until he in turn lost his confidence in the First Division. Personally I never had a lot of confidence in McAlister who didn't seem to have that inner confidence that's needed.
