This is a quick thought that I should probably txt my mates rather than start a thread, but il share it with you anyway.
Che aside (because he's still in my prospects category) all four of my favourite players are yet to get in our first 11. It's a great feeling seeing us up there and winning games we would have previously struggled in without Brayford, Done, Wallace and Sparky playing or at least starting. Granted Done and Mcnulty might never be regulars if Billy and the fish strike up a good partnership but it's only a matter of time before Wallace and the beard are back. You might disagree but who's up in arms that Reed and Diego aren't getting a start any more? I'd love them to get a run out and eventually cement their place in the team, but currently we finally have a strong enough squad to cover certain injuries and even leave massive prospects like Reed and Diego, khan, Lewin etc out of the squad. I'm getting carried away a bit, the competition for places is much weaker at centre half but even at left and right back Freeman and McEvey are doing a much better job than I had expected.
This long tedious post is basically just to say, things are looking up! And they are only going to get better!

Totally agree on the players. I'd start Done and Sparky and not worry about who gets left out.

I'd like to see them given a go.
That said I'd like to give Sparky a start with Salmon first too, he'd complement him much more I think.
Talent wise, Done and Mcnulty too for me. Extremely harsh on Billy though.

Sammon has earned his place at the moment. Controlling and holding up the ball then bringing other players in has been a contribution rarely seen at BDTBL for some time.

Agree Wallace and Done should get a start asap

Sharp has been immense since he joined in performances and now he's got on the scoresheet as has Sammon.

McNulty hasn't featured while saturday for a reason. Although he did make a good impact and for that deserves a start tomorrow.

It's always nice to have an impact player to come off the bench. He could be like Miller was for us, hopefully for a longer period. He's a class act, a great finisher and although he's only young maybe he destined to be a squad player for us.

He's only going to get better. He gets some unfair stick on here, he's still a kid and was a year and half ago still playing in the Scottish championship.
We have a good player there, if he sticks around and learns from Sharp.

That's a really good point, I don't like to admit it because Sharp was the year below me at school, but he's 30 next year and won't be around forever and Mcnulty could learn a lot from him. Mainly his movement, finishing wise I personally think he's one of the best we have got already.
Nice problem for Adkins to have I suppose.

Having seen McNulty play saturday I think he already has learned a lot from Sharp. He can already finish like him it's his link up play that leaves a lot to be desired. His touch looked better the other day, he didn't waste anything. He was bright and he was very good albeit against tiring opposition.
Whisper it quietly but the £500,000 we spent on Sharp might have bought us 2.

nice to see us arguing about who we can leave out up front ,and after letting Murphy go ,who was irreplaceable
We are suddenly blessed with options , without buying in straight away

if we can get a good loan centre half we can see how it goes to January then bolster the squad if it needs it
Personally think we might need some one to widen our options from midfield in January other than that with players coming back we are starting to look pretty well covered

We still need to replace Murphy. You don't lose a player of that calibre and not replace him, how can we rely on Che for a full season? Flynn is always injured and Done isn't back for a while yet.

If we want to go up we need to be better. Just a centre half isn't going to cut it.

When Done and McNulty player together last season, they didn’t seem to compliment each other at all and McNulty looked really poor.

What we’ve still not seen yet is McNulty given a couple of games alongside a target man. I was crying out for it when O Grady was here and it’s an option again now with the Fish. That being said, Billy is doing pretty well at the moment too so no rush in that regard.

It was also interesting to see McNulty and Sharp together as both are clever players and neither is the target man but neither is the out and out off the shoulder runner (like Done). That partnership might appear and be effective again before long.

I also think Sammon and Done would make a very handy partnership as Sammon can hold the ball up and Done has the pace in behind.
With our striking options, we now have different ways to attack teams which is pleasing. When we’re poor (like first half on Saturday) we have the option of changing things to give the opposition a different problem to think about and that’s a good position to be in (reminds me of triple assault season when we had Asaba, Windass, Kabba, Chief, Pesky, Onoura, Mooney etc).

7 goals in 73 games from the chief, and he's still one of my childhood hero's!

He might have only got 7 goals but in his first season he was a real nuisance. He played a big part in the 6 goals Peski scored from December onwards with a lot being late equalisers/winners. Seeing those 2 come on together for the last 20 minutes always gave you the feeling a goal was coming.

Great ball from sharp as well to set up Sparky's goal damn good goal as well kop went wild when their keeper missed it

I guess its shows u that we can get high up in the table without them Bradford n done R 2 of my best n we've adapted well with them injured if we dont get another left winger I reckon done would be a good option for left wing wen he comes back from injury

And just think when main man Couttsy-boy is added into the mix. Phwoar. Phweurgh. Pff. Eugh. *sobs*

High class problem, too many decent strikers. Nigel needs to decide on his starting 2 and stick with it, to enable them to develop a partnership. Sammon and Sharp for me, with Sparky coming on if needed like on Saturday, but replacing Billy not Sammon.
