A year too early, Silent, surely?
From the article:
Martin Chivers on the left? Who are the other 2 spurs players? Geoff Salmons at the back?

Not wobbly enough?I would say John Pratt middle,Mike England far right nearest Salmons,I'm not sure that's Chivers btw
I wasn't even teething in those days but I still turned round to my dad and said 'this Currie bloke will do a job for us, I'm telling thi'
Yes, although I had more of a basin cut.A bit like Carruthers then?
Also in the 68 and 69 team line up photos Currie has short hair.
The long hair didn't start until the early 70's
Pratt yes, but it's not England or Chivers.I would say John Pratt middle,Mike England far right nearest Salmons,I'm not sure that's Chivers btw
Terry Naylor on the leftPratt yes, but it's not England or Chivers.
Summer 1973I doubt that the photo of Currie signing is actually him joining from Watford. Looks later than that to me.
Terry Naylor (not Martin Chivers), John Pratt and Ray Evans. 25th March 1972. We lost 2-0. TC suffered facial injuries in a car crash in Sheffield that evening. He was out of action for 3 or 4 weeksFrom the article:

I have read the match report a few times at the Sheffield Library and have seen the photo of the goal. It was a headerMy mind must be playing tricks on me, I thought Curry had scored with a waste high volley against Spurs and it was at the Kop end. Also thought he had shorter hair when he joined us. I was there, but often had a few before that match, so that might explain it.![]()
And that picture wasn't taken at an evening kick offCurrie didn't have long hair when he signed for us. Stir wrong again. Remember the night well. We were in the Bramall Lane stand above where he scored. Fresh faced teenage, slightly plump.

Cheers m8, but i was right about the hair.I have read the match report a few times at the Sheffield Library and have seen the photo of the goal. It was a header
I'd just left school but still went to games with my Dad and Bro in law. If I'm honest, it was a great game and TC played well, but I can't recall seeing anything then that made me think WOW we'd signed a genius, and the finest Blades player I've ever seen.
We were scratching around trying to replace the brilliant Mick Jones and Sherman at the time, and although TC did an ok job as a striker, he wasn't a world-beater. We were also playing midfielder Colin Addison upfront with Mick Hill who was by then our only recognised sticker back then, so I'm pretty sure TC was signed as a striker.
But Sir John Harris had the foresight to move him to midfield the following season and a Blades legend was born. Where has the time gone? UTB.
