......so plenty of time to improve things.

So far we have played 2 decent sides, and although we should have got more from the Swansea game, we didn't.

Main issues at present:

Goals-will we get enough to compete at this level?
Defense-Bash, Stevens, dont fill me with confidence at all. Baldock is doing ok and it's too early for Henderson and Egan. JOC will come good i'm sure.
Midfield-Fleck is a great player, but is not playing well. Lundstrum for me is average but can play better. Evans is good as well but not so far this season. Hopefully Coutts comes back and does well again.

Signings-We need some changes really. I think strikers is our biggest problem, but maybe it's time for Wilder to try a different formation or something as well? He has done it before, he can do it again.

One thing is for sure, things change quickly in football. We have the right man in charge, but face a big challenge.

Only 2 days left to get the appropriate replacements in to improve things.

True.

But maybe we don't need huge numbers in. We have some good players at the club in my view. Players like Duffy, Fleck, Coutts, JOC, Egan, Baldock, Freeman etc. Could add the strikers to that list based on last season as well. We just need a couple more. Maybe we will get some loans, maybe a shrew signing before Fri. It's the hope that kills you!

i'll bite
both sides were gash. one was powder puff and the other hoof.. we'd have hammered them a year ago
goals. not with Bill and woody on the bench
defence. bash. great bloke. headless chicken. they new monty. Egan not overrawed by this guy, has a tendency to hoof when under pressure. joc has gone. his head is on brighton beach. Stevens up there with the worst.. jordan whateverhisname was.. Baldock can't defend. can't score (usually. saturday was an outlier).. Steersman must be well annoyed. as Freeman.
Midfield. Fleck is being played out of postion. he is an all action box to box CM. the two traffic cones need a poison dart (copyright Copernicus).. Duffy on the bench. wtf?

Chris.. stubbornness over picking out of form/crap players cost the last two managers goodwill. very rapidly considering esp with Clough. we've all played football at some level and know who the weak links are. it was a decent effort to try and replace Couttsy on the cheap but it hasn't worked he is too good. Just fucking drop it for your own good mate . We love you and all that but ffs that was absolute pish

44 games to go , this is going to be a lonnnnngggg season , it weren't so bad in div 1 was it :(

I hear you mate. Its not good, but theres time left in the tank.

Wilder changed things rapidly 2 years ago when we had 1 point from 4 games and we won the league. Not saying we will win it this year, but we can be much better than this.

personally i don't mind getting fucking hammered as long as we have a go and don't die with a banana stuffed up our arse for good measure.

I don't think too many teams are capable of hammering us when Wilder resorts to type with his team selection . CW seems to lose his way when he over analyses the situation . Get us back to his basics, doing exactly what he said we'd do when he was first appointed and we'll be absolutely fine .

just put out the promotion line up chris.. Leonard for Couttsy. what's the worst that could happen?

Name me 3 better left backs in the championship who we can realistically replace him with?

To be fair there's already a couple at the Lane who'd be worth giving a chance to .

well we have one sat on the bench. Lafferty was never my favourite but ffs even 'he' is better than Stevens and so is Noz for that matter.

You lafferty lovers will get your chance to see how bad he is in the cup next week. Everyone has forgotten how frequently he got skinned in league 1 Gillingham instantly springs to mind. Stevens is far superior to both other left backs at the lane. But hey wilder and his national team manager seem to think he is decent

I think Stevens IS decent but it's abundantly clear that his confidence is shot to shit . And for the record I'm not suggesting Lafferty should replace him . And whilst Noz may be too young to throw in right now why not have a look at Bryan ?

I'd also swap Basham for Leonard while I was at it aswell . It's a gamble but isn't that where he started his career ? With both Leonard and Bryan in the back 5 ( or 3 and 2 wingbacks if you prefer ) there's significantly more pace at the back for us .

I think the biggest change we need to make is to start being braver again. We've started playing 'safe' football too often and respecting the opposition too much in my opinion.

Fleck hasn't been great in the first two games but once Duffy and Woodburn came on at Middlesbrough he was a different player because he had the chance to use the space that they could create. It's been discussed to death but everyone knows we lack pace. To counter that, we need to move the ball quicker to create the space which is what we were doing far better early last season.

It only seems like something minor but I think it would make a big difference.

Where can you buy humble pie?
not yet mate.. after the rave reviews i thought he was pretty average on saturday at best and was mildly disappointed
keep it in the fridge though i’m happy to be proved wrong
it was a fair comment at the time i think most would agree he suddenly improved ( coinciding with marvins arrival)

Only 4 assists so far this season in 14 games. Nothing to do with johnson just a case of getting up to speed
