We started slowly and for the first 20 minutes Bournmouth were an impressive outfit.....we seemed half asleep whilst they seemed up for it and very confident
definitely better than us....they could have easily been 2-0 up. Then we slowly but surely started to take control and dominate,

Why would that be pissing on anyone’s bonfire? It’s the official figure of over 30K that counts.
I spoke to a few season tickets holders around me on the Kop and they all said it entered their heads not to bother because the weather at 12 noon was so bad.
For 25,000 diehard to brave storms and terrible potentially conditions is impressive.

The match was an official home sell out....29,300 home tickets + just under 1000 away tickets sold.
 
I got the ground at half time due to a senior moment ,thinking it was 3 o'clock kick off , as I approached the turnstile a steward said your cutting it fine bills Sharp just scored ,
Yes I replied I just heard the roar and the we got Billy Sharp song with that brief conversation they shut the turnstile door in my face.
 
Can't blame anyone for missing the game. Nobody realised the weather was going to improve so much especially with it being live on T V. Spent 30 minutes queuing then decided to have pint and a leak. in Railway so missed the crappest part of the game.

Assuming the Kop was the same as the other stands that I could see then I think that's feasible. I don't blame anyone for missing the game btw, especially if you popped your head out of the house at midday.

Absolutely no way were there 7k empty seats. A fair number in the South Stand were late getting in but it was fairly full 30 mins in as was BLUT. Family Stand had a few gaps but only a few hundred.

I think considering that they have a 10K home attendance, the distance to travel combined with the weather situation I thought it was a decent turnout. They were vocal as well for a time and there has been larger but quieter away attendances at the Lane this year.

It would mean nearly a quarter of the seats were empty, which clearly wasn't the case.

To me, the South Stand looked only half full until half time. The queues outside were ridiculous and I'm sure that some gave up in the end.
 
The weather at 12 o'clock was so bad that i couldn't imagine the game would be played.The change in the conditions by kick off was remarkable and the pitch was in fantastic shape,however,i'm not surprised that a few thousand cried off.It all worked out well in the end,just like our season has,credit the supporters who got there and the club for getting the game played on time....what more would you expect from our great club,UTB.
 
It was pretty funny, first half they "had the wind" and second half we did. Like playing park football again!

We're season ticket holders who didn't go yesterday. Due the weather (and it being on TV) my 7 year old just didn't fancy it. The msz was at work, and for some strange reason apparently it's illegal to leave 7 year old's home alone, so that meant I couldn't go either.

When the rest of the family were setting off the storm was at it's worst. Some of the worst weather I've seen in my entire life. TBH, I was about 90% sure the match was going to get called off (and I still think it would have done had it stayed like that) so I didn't argue too much when he said he didn't want to go. Half an hour later the bloody sun was out!

That's the first time I've had a ticket and not gone to a game since Blackwell was in charge!

Watching the game on MOD last night and there were spaces all over the Kop as well, you have to understand why people didn't go, I was pleased the official attendance didn't drop below 30,000 which I now presume won't happen this season

Looks like every home game is going to have a 30,000 plus attendance,1st time in our history more to come I think!
Maintain it for a few years and we will have to grow the capacity, team building comes first for now.

Didn't we have a higher average after the war? Obviously I wasn't there but I presume you were Finners, with your wife and kids, I mean ww11 by the way 😳

Quite a few empty seats upto half time because of the turnstile problems. After half time maybe 5/600 empty seats scattered round the ground in the home ends. Just watched it in BT Sport and where people are coming from about the empty spaces need to watch it on TV. The Kop was full, few empties in South Stand probably because people had got pissed off queuing and watched it in the pubs. Quite a few in the family Stand . Absolutely nothing for the usual suspects to comment on.

Extra point for each attendance over 30001. Anybody know the prize money based on where we finish.

We have had higher averages over the years, but to get that average some of the attendances would have been below 30k, but Finlay is saying every game this season looks like it will attract over 30k which is the first time we will gave done this. When we averaged over 30k in the last Premier League season, I believe six of the games attracted fewer than 30k.

I think your right we have probably had higher average attendances in the thirties or possibly 40 s but the difference in capacity was massive55 K +.there were low attendances in those days ( but not from memory 😉) the high's pumped up the average.

Joined the long queue for the South Stand at about 10 to 2. Loads were taking one look at the length of it and saying they were just going to go and watch the game in the pub instead.

It took around 25 minutes to get in and there was still a big queue behind me once I was in, so suspect most of it did not clear until at least 25 past.

This is the second time now that the turnstiles for the South Stand on Bramall Lane have been down. The other being the Watford game, though they did eventually get these fixed.
