Was thinking surely it must be a sell out 32k but we only got just over 30k! Palace brought more than i thought so was it just empty seats or dosent the segregation allow us the full capacity anymore?

Our capacity is under 32k so it was never going to be that.

Minus the cordoned off seats and you’ve got barely 31k.

I have been at Bramall Lane when we’ve had just under 50,000 in there. 1970’s btw - not early 1900’s.

We could reach those levels again but not without stadium expansion.

Which is why I’ve argued in favour of it.

The game today is bigger and in more demand than ever before. Watched by a global audience.

We are throwing money away every week not having a greater capacity.

I bought the ticket on Thursday morning, before the club announced they were opening it up for general sale.
£15, no membership and he now has 100 points.
That’s fine FB, they need to organise things better though and give those people who need tickets more time to arrange things, they can’t just say 2 days before a game that any Tom dick and Harry can now buy one and expect a sellout, it won’t happen. People make plans.

The club should just stop fucking about and build the kop extension. A quick and cheap solution, the ticket policy doesn't have to be so onerous and everyone's happy.
Where are the 10,000 of us on the kop going to sit during the year they take to rebuild it?
Will we then get 35k every home match after spending tens of millions doing it?

A year to rebuild the kop? Geyore GCB! It’s the kop! Not La Sagrada Familia!

Anyway, we have 10,000 cordoned off seats you can sit in, every game.

It seems the only sure way of getting a ticket for the big matches is to be a member as points alone don't guarantee one.
A new member with just 500 points will have first chance to get a ticket.
40 quid might sound a lot to have a good chance of a ticket but if you want one membership is the best way.
No idea how many members there are but if we have say 4000 tickets for sale and have 4000+ members then they wont reach a fan with thousands of points.
Not trying to sell it but being a member is the best way.
There are little over 2,000 members, and 4,000 home tickets available for each game.

Although the official art. Is 32 690 with sky losing us 200 and safety regulations using up rows for cordoning off our real capacity is more like 31450. . Palarse came up short by 500 and some restricted views were left unsold

If you do a few guesstimates about how much that expansion would cost, the average ticket price and the likely increase in attendance, I very much doubt there’s a pure financial case for doing so.

It appears that people with thousands of loyalty points can't buy a ticket.
yes they can. They need to buy a £40 membership and then they will be near the top of the queue for every home game they want to attend

Saturday will surely sell out
Unfortunately there isn’t a chance we’ll sellout, they won’t change the ticketing policy for this game because Leicester sold out almost straight away so we’ll have roughly 2,000 seats spare. Embarrassing!

Will we buggery.

Are you saying that everyone that wants to go will have under 500 loyalty points?

There were claims of only a 27000 gate for Sunday. Now 28000 for the coming Saturday. Let’s see.

Eh?🤔

Apparently there are roughly 2,000 members, this on top of the STs sold leaves roughly 2,000 tickets that can’t be sold unless we relax the ticketing policy like we did for Sunday’s game, where there was roughly 500 available tickets left. Hope this helps bt?

They can be sold to people with 500 points but no membership

You don't need a membership, just 500 points.

Loads of people will have 500 points and over but no membership.

People seem to repeating things as gospel without actually looking into it first.

Like £5 pints and a halftime Pinot Grigio.

My bad, I forgot they could do that. Apologies!

It’s still looking highly doubtful of a sellout though. There’s shitloads left and we’re at the general sale stage, if you can call it that. 😁

No need to apologise. I’m really not Kevin McCabe......

:)

If there are any left by Thursday they should open it to members if they want some form of restrictions in place. If not do the same as for the Palace game and really put them on general sale!

Unless there is some sort of Premier League/Safety Group etc restriction in place whereby you can only relax ticket restrictions if the away team haven't sold out, then we shot ourselves in the foot by announcing that "because Crystal Palace hadn't sold all their tickets" ours were on general sale with no points required.

I'm not privy to this information, but it seemed like to an excuse to me, when really we had fucked up on our ticketing policy.

Leicester tickets do appear to be going slightly quicker than the Palace ones, but the laws of supply and demand still apply here. You've got to make buying tickets easy. So what if the odd Leicester fan comes on the home ends. Loads of Blades go on home ends at other ground - I've done this myself on a few occasions.

Wear away colours or chant etc - and out you go! Cause problems - and out you go (with a kick up your arse btw). Sit there are just whisper (yipeeeeeeeee) under your breath if your team scores - then who gives a fook? You've put £40 in our coffer, cheers pal, enjoy your day.

This is what I was querying. At the top of that attatchment it states this is for 19/20 members. On Friday I was told my pal's loyalty points weren't relevant until he became a member.
Do they count when they say it's general sale?

Yes. If you look at the picture someone posted above, all of the bands of ticket sales say membership or super draw required except for the general sale one, which is just > 500 points.

The 500 points is purely just to stop away fans, as someone said, im pretty sure anyone could waltz into the ticket office in person and buy a couple of tickets explaining they want to get their kids etc involved.

Where are the 10,000 of us on the kop going to sit during the year they take to rebuild it?
Will we then get 35k every home match after spending tens of millions doing it?

The club won't be rebuilding it, they'll be extending it. They'll sit on the kop same as they do now. The kop will stay open with sufficient capacity to cater for the ST holders and the work will be carried out in parallel with the football season. This has been stated by the club and done to death on this forum so why are you resurrecting this?

No we won't for every match but we will do for at least half of them. By your logic we should reduce capacity to 30k so we sell out every week.

10's of millions for the kop extension? Who's doing the fucking work, Persimmon? 10 million in total more like.

There can't be many companies that stop customers buying their products, you can become a Man Utd member today (and buy a ticket today, no points needed) so its not a premier league requirement. I have in the past bought tickets for family members, but can't anymore...

So the points aren’t worth shit without the membership? So 40 for the ticket and 40 for membership. Basically the cost of a Wembley ticket. I’m sure that’s going to attract lots of new fans.

But it isn't basically the cost of a Wembley ticket is it because people don't pay the membership fee every match. If they go to 10 matches over the season then the membership has only cost them £4 a game.

I could not go to the Palace game anyway but having bought a membership tested out the online system a bit. I had my son and daughter registered as friends and family from last season.
Before the tickets went on general sale I could buy for me (a member with 11 k points) and my son (not a member with 11k points from being a ST holder years ago), but not for my daughter (< 500 points).
After they went on general sale I could buy for any of them.
So if you have loyalty points you can move up the queue without a membership if you can register as friends/family of someone who does have a membership.
Or you can wait till general sale if you have >500 points (and the membership gives no preference at this stage)
Or you can wait for a match where the away fans don't sell their allocation again, and get in without 500 loyalty points (but you do need a customer number to buy online at least)
Or you can find someone with friends/family with loyalty points to buy you a ticket and take a slight risk by pretending to be one of them

Thanks for your help. Just been to the Lane to purchase tickets.
If anyone else was confused with what's on the official site, you need 500 points but you don't have to fork out for a membership.
BL Upper tier 1 is usually the last to be bought, but is completely sold out for Saturday.

If you look (in the mirror) I'm not the one who is resurrecting it....
In terms of this thread, and the main discussion on it, even if the kop was extended this week, before the Leicester match, increasing capacity by 5k, it wouldn't help the current issue of membership and how many loyalty points would be needed for casual fans to sit on it would it?
So, thanks for the put down, but your post doesn't actually solve the issue of this thread, does it?
