I think the damage was done ticket wise, not every fan looks at this board or the OS for daily updates. Some would have looked, realised they couldn’t get one and left it at that.
This.

I think the club only released the statement once online. They should have been shouting from the rooftops to try and get the message out there to those who had been turned away.

Would you like to look for another stick to bash the club with? The one you've used is covered in (bull)shit.
What nonsense. The club made a mess of the sales. I presume it will change its procedures to avoid a repeat

I'd guess a casual fan might be more inclined to attend the Leicester game next weekend as it's on a Saturday and not on Sky. With minimum match day tickets at £35 now (not at all complaining about that, it's the price of being a PL side) it would be £70 to attend both without any added costs, so given a choice of both I would think more would look at the Leicester game instead next Saturday.

Whilst queuing to get in on saw a group l know who are in John Street who were on their way to the ticket office. None of theirs worked.,
I know quite a few people, like Torrix1889 did, who just went up London Road to watch it as they couldn’t be arsed with the needless hassle.

I expect Leicester will sell out so the ticketing arrangements will remain as advertised for Saturday.

Just wanted to add.

For anyone who thinks Topplayersleave is anything but a Blade.

You're wrong. So, so wrong.

I dont even care if he is, or is not a blade. Constant club bashing, never anything positive is tiresome and boring and im the one been aggressive for calling his convenient claim about issues with buying tickets bullshit but im a fucking plank? ha - There were issues with ticketing yes, but the 500pt requirement was dropped, he obviously didnt realise and used it as another stick to try and beat the club with and when pulled up on it, had some friends who had problems and a screenshot of the leicster ticket info......

BULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLSHIT.

I know people who bought tickets Friday and Saturday, without any issue and without any loyalty points (glory seeking twats that they are)

Keep digging. Someone already said, find a new stick to beat the club with, this one isnt functioning correctly.
I don't think he is particularly trying to have a go at the club.
I personally think the club didn't clearly explain how the remaining ticket sales would be sold.
It should be made totally clear - after all, it is the club that misses out if there are unsold tickets.

My card wouldn’t work so I squeezed through with my son as his card did, there’s no way I was queuing in that south stand car park queue for the ineptitude of our ticketing department*, it’s been a shambles from the start to the present and needs sorting ASAP.

*I’m not in the slightest blaming the staff in the office as they get told to string a line, it’s those above them that’s needs sorting.

Happened to me season before last Wiz. The stewards were aware of the problem and had a gate open to usher those affected in. When I went to the ticket office later that week the girl just shrugged when I asked what the problem was and just swiped my card and gave it back to me. For some reason the club chose to make those affected on Sunday queue up to get it sorted this time around which caused quite a bit of grief for those affected. I think PL football must lead to a proportionate increase in the amount of jobsworths the club employs.

It’s all he ever does.

He's always trying to have a go at the club, just read any of his earlier posts.
That's exactly why some believe he's not really a Blade supporter at all

As far as Palace goes, you’re wrong. It was made clear on here that tickets were on sale with no points requirement. Why post about another games details to try to pretend you haven’t got it wrong yet again.
Because he can't show what the website showed for the Palace game as it has now gone so is giving an example of what was on the site last week.
I read S24SU regularly and didn't see the posts that restrictions had been lifted.
I'm not making a big deal of it but the club must make sure there is no doubts when there are still tickets available.

The fact is he was wrong. As he so often is. He never stops attacking the club. The club could certainly have handled it better but plenty of people appeared to have got tickets after the restrictions were lifted, they can’t all be members on here.,

Absolutely. The club didn’t get it quite right for this one. Humans often lapse from perfection. I trust it will be a lesson learned and full houses all the way from now on, subject to away followings of course.

Let’s beat in mind that we could have just about sold out home areas in season tickets if regulations permitted.
I’ve liked it but.......

It’s ‘bear’, fucking ‘bear’. 🤣

It was mentioned on here but don't think the website was updated. Unless the club deliberately didn't want to set some kind of zero loyalty point precedent for home matches, I think it was all just a bit last minute with communication not being as well thought through as it could.

That aside, I'm led to believe all staff at the ground have (and are) working around the clock this month to get all things in place and have done a fantastic job given the demands and set backs caused by the Rod Stewart 'gig'.

It doesn't help that the Club calls it General Sale when you still need loyalty points. That is just a lower level of restricted sale

You did initially (as you do to buy a Leicester ticket on what is called General Sale) but then you suddenly didn't - which wasn't well communicated.

150 points available if they buy a ticket for the Blackburn game.
What??? That means your average, lifelong Blade, would have to go to more than 3 games to have enough points, to get a walk-up Prem ticket. Reyt fuckin scam.
Then get shafted for £20 a pint and 10 quid for a 1 page photocopied match program, just to line McCabes pockets. What a twat, no chance.

Everybody seems to have a different experience when trying to buy a ticket this season which seems to suggest it's not very clear what is the correct information from the club.
Here is my twopenth for what it's worth! Just come back from the ticket office after trying to buy 2 tickets for Leicester game for a Blade who lives in Cornwall but is up on Saturday so wants his 6 year old grand daughter to visit the Lane for the first time.
He can have one as he is on the data system as a season ticket holder from a few years ago when he lived up here.I couldn't buy one for her as she hasn't got 500 loyalty points, they said this would not be relaxed later this week and therefore she would not be able to attend.
I said it was changed for the general sale of Palace tickets but she said it wasn't and the 500 pts was always in place last week and would stay that way for the rest of the season ?
I don't dispute that some people say they were able to buy Palace tickets on general sale last Friday or Saturday which adds to the general confusion.
I said how could she ever come to a game is she wasn't allowed to buy a ticket and accrue any loyalty points.I have a season ticket on the Kop and over 40,000 loyalty points which still drew a blank, so Catch 22 me thinks?
It really shouldn't be that hard for us to sell all our available tickets but apparently at the moment it is???

Love it!

Just on the totting up procedure:

Membership - 100 points
Palace Ticket - 50 points
Blackburn ticket - 150 points

Only 200 to go to get to any game (because my neighbour/butcher/milkman/family member/other* delete as appropriate used to buy the ticket and never put me any points on).

How long have loyalty points been a thing?

My idea of a casual fan would have more than enough even if they're fair weather.

If you only started supporting us when Wilder turned the ship around, and casually went to the important games, Champions of league one, first game back in the champ, a promotion rival or Wednesday, Leicester cup ties, first game last season, last game last season, you'd have about 1000 loyalty points in 3 years.

Unless you're 5 and want to go to your first game, 500 points is fair enough to stop day trippers and infiltrators.

Haven't you been reading. A mate always got their ticket. :)
