Are we just a 3 season wonder (Triple assault-promotion season-prem season) and this is Sheffield united? Just a mediocre team destined to linger in the championship for another decade to descend on us before we make a move again to another league?

or are we still in the making of something big, like a volcano?

I don't know why people are so affected by our current plight. We are Blades this is always the way we do things :)

We're just giving the rest of the Championship a false sense of security :D

Sunderland only had 2 more points than us at this point last season, let's hope we can repeat what they did.

i wish i could agree with you Daz, the difference is that sunderland had a manager that commanded the respect of the players and also motiviated them

can you honestly say that we have the same?

The championship is littered with mediocre former premiership teams that have failed to bounce back, whilst i still hope that we can push on this season; we shouldn't all see what Sunderland did and expect us to do the same.

See what I think HERE

You make some very valid points linz and to be honest your post got me thinking; forgive me if this post is a little meandering.

I have clocked up almost two decades following the blades and very few of those years have been spent experiencing the 'good times' of winning more games then we lose. I've never entertained thoughts of ending my support but i have gone through times where the blades have slipped down in my priorities, mainly whilst i was away at university and money was tight.

In my opinion, the massive costs associated with attending games is what has bred this "hire em and fire em" mentality that is adopted by a significant number of fans and whilst i'm pretty ambivalent towards the performance of our manager; i can understand why so many are so upset with how things are going.

I don’t care about the business side of things; i don't care about how great sheffield united are off the field. I am a football fan and i enjoy watching the game from sunday league right up to the premiership; i do not read the financial times or keep abrest of stock market changes.

But like it or not, professional football is more about profit then anything else these days and the club (as well as some fans) are keen as mustard to ram down our throats just how well run this business is.

I guess my point is that if everyone is so happy that that Sheffield United is a successful business then they should be happy for it to be run like one, therefore if one of its employees is not performing then he should be replaced; is that not the way a successful business works?

And if that is the analogy we're using... who does the firing? The boss or the customers?

And who decides what is success for Sheffield United? Maybe success this year would be consolidating our position in this league following a complete upheaval in being relegated and having a new manager in?

Do you genuinely think that success this season would be consolidating?

I'm not trying to pick an argument here, i've remianed neutral and happy for Robbo to carry on for as long as the board see fit; i'm just thinking out loud if anything.
