Just because i looked at the Norwich forum and they are convinced they are the best side in the league.

If the top 3 had a little league, Norwich are bottom we are even (havent done goal difference cba).

If that little league included games against the top 7.

Norwich are level with you but played a game more.

We are top by 4 points with 2 games left same as you.

3 best sides in the league imo by a distance.

Going to be fun.

West Brom must be devastated after their last two games. I can't see them recovering, looking like the play off's for them. Boro can't afford to drop points if they want a top two spot. If we manage to beat the pigs it will be looking like a three cornered contest 7pts out of 11 games to catch up is a tall order for the rest.

How good do you think you were tonight?

I keep trying to find ways of saying West Brom were awful without it sounding like "I didn't think Leeds looked that great", but they were absolutely attrocious.

They hardly completed a pass, but at the same time you had 4 players going for the ball near the halfway line in the 90th minute. A victory for hard work more than dazzling football? Would that be fair? Some great quick feet though from your lot and well taken goals.

I think we made WBA look hopeless with how we played.

As performances go that was our most effective performance, not the most sparkling football although we did play some nice stuff.

We've played more sparkling stuff over 90mins and lost or drawn.

But WBA were and atm still are the best away side in the league, that was there biggest defeat under Moore i read so that includes the Prem time.

I think thats fair, a victory for hard work, not to say we didnt play nice stuff but it was the work rate and intensity that did WBA in and it showed why teams sit back against us all the time.

They had 1 shot on target we had 9 scored 4, it was simply extremely effective imo.

Effective nails it for me. It became obvious as long as you pressed and passed around them they weren't going to get a sniff, and that's what you did flawlessly pretty much.

Why do more than you need to when that worked so well.

WBA desperately need a new formation.

We've had Leeds running out of gas
We've had Norwich won't continue to get lucky last minute goals
Last season some even said Wolves weren't all that good because they didn't win the first 15 games on the trot

Wish people would just STFU
Concentrate on ourselves

Sorry to say if Leeds play with that intensity against us I can’t see us beating them. I hate Alioski but don’t see Freeman lasting that pace against him.

Leeds were very good against a tactically inept WBA, the early goal was crucial it settles any nerves from the QPR result.

As for us we need to at least pick up a point on Monday against Wednesday then beat Rotherham on Saturday lunch next week to put the pressure back on Leeds.

Norwich have almost a guaranteed six points with fixtures away at not interested Millwall tomorrow and next Friday at home against the equally not interested Swansea.

I think it’s between us and Leeds for second place as it stands.

Leeds pressed very well and suffocated WBA similar to how we started the game against them. Thought Leeds were very good. WBA had a short spell at the start of the second half where I thought they might get going but by the end of the game they looked utterly dejected. The third goal seemed to kill any spirit they might have had.

The so called easier fixtures are often the ones where teams slip up. QPR for Leeds as an example. Millwall can blow very hot and cold, but do need the points. Fancy them getting something Saturday.

Not such a bad week really.

WBA really pushed out of it for a while. Added pressure on them going forwards. That's a severe blow to their goal difference now with us and then Norwich now streets ahead.

Leeds dropped points that we wanted them to but in the game they did win, it held back another rival.

Almost win win in a sense because I think we would have expected them to get no less than 3 points in their last two games.

The fact they dropped them against a team that was unexpected and then took the three from another chasing team may not be a bad thing at all.

It all depends on us continuing to win. Annoying thing is, were it not for Hendo's unenforced lapse, we'd be above Leeds even now. Still a totally underserved 3 points if ever there was one. They should have had none that day.

Yes, it is a derby and both teams will need to compete. The likes of Alan Nixon are saying draw. When we play we will definitely be 3rd. They could be as low as 15th.

If this was anything other than a derby then you'd be favoring the team in 3rd.

Plus with so many away fans, the vocal backing will be tremendous to lift the players. I'm not sure Norwich will get the same support vs Millwall for instance.

Provided the occasion doesn't get to us, once the game has settled down, we can definitely do this. Win the derby. And win promotion. And win the league.

liverpool threw the title away with 3 games to go so nothings done until it’s done.

We have a game Monday. Let’s reassess after that.

3rd is a cunts position. All that effort chasing top 2 then having face clubs who’ve usually consolidated their position a lot earlier.... No thank you.......let’s win the damn thing.

I agree agree with a lot of that but not that Leeds deserved nothing at the Lane. Our 'keeper made the error, not theirs. McGoldrick missed the sitter, not their forward. By that token, they deserved to win, that's the nature of the beast. Weird lapses and bad errors aren't separate from the team performance, they make up part of it.

Nothing has changed from Bejsmin Blooms recent assessment of the promotion race.

Norwich and Sheff Utd are the 2 best “teams”.
Leeds have spells in a game where their massive intensity can blow teams away but how often can they keep up that intensity because without it they aren’t as good and even struggle to beat average teams.
West Brom have some of the best individuals in the league so have the potential to go on a great run but their manager is the least experienced.
Boro are under the radar but Pullis knows how to pick up points even when they don’t play well.

There’s far too many matches left, so at this stage it’s a 5 horse race for the auto’s
And to be honest which ever teams finish top 2 will deserve it.

Leeds are still too erratic. As good as they were v WBA they were equally as dog shit in the previous game v QPR.

No one game is a pointer to how it will finish
The 2 most consistent in the last 11 will go up. Could be any 2 from 3

West Brom lost by not defending well enough in the first 15 seconds . Nice strike but given the freedom of the pitch to hit it

If we beat the pigs then the 2 home games i may start to dream

Well for starters Leeds won`t have as much of the ball when they play us.

Think it’s a little early to be writing a few teams obituaries just yet , 30+ points still up for grabs and a lot of teams still to play each , we were supposedly out of it with some after West Brom won here , string a run of wins together and your right back it in .

We shouldn’t write anyone off yet

Agree with these 2 points; Bristol City in 6th just hit the buffers too soon (giving everybody 3 pts for games in hand) they are 10 pts and massive GD away from 2nd so that excludes them.
Boro in 5th are 6pts and GD to make up behind 2nd, can all the teams above them have 2 bad games in the next 12? Yes they can.
West Brom in 4th it's hanging by a thread but if Norwich don't win they are still hanging on.

Despite all these endless permutations we’re coming up with; it’s in OUR hands, no matter what other teams do....it’s there for the taking!!

Agree.....some people might look back to the stupid last minute dropped points away at Rotherham and Villa.
They might look back to the last second winners for Leeds and Norwich when they’ve not played well.

But think we should forget about past matches.....wipe the slate clean.

We should look at this as a mini league with 5 teams all starting on zero points with just 12 matches to play.
Luck can play a part in one-off games but over a 12 game period which ever team finishes top 2 amongst the 5 front runners will deserve it.

Another important point is I don’t feel the pressure (like normal) if we did finish in the play-offs.
I’ve full confidence that our team will turn up and perform well in the play-offs, we have very experienced players and managers who can all handle pressure really well.

So it’s all positive (great times to be a Blade) and we should enjoy the ride and not worry about the destination.
