Although Reading are in a false position we'll never get a better chance to end Reading's curse that they've had over us for as long as I can remember. Must be well over a decade since we beat them at the Lane.

There is no such thing as a false position. They are exactly where they deserve to be.

Big crowd expected due to the £10 a ticket offer etc I hope we really think positive on tuesday night and take the game to Reading and i would be confident of a good 2-0 win but can see Blackwell after seeing them put out Liverpool in cup and also Burnley that he will think negative and maybe just scrape a draw.

Reading are unbeaten in their last 6 league matches at the Lane, winning 5 and drawing 1, which is the best current run of any visiting team.

their run:

2008/9 - 0-2
2006/7 - 1-2
2005-6 - 1-1
2004-5 - 0-1
2003-4 - 1-2
2002-3 - 1-3

I think they are going to win again. The presence of Taylor and Fortune together in the back 4 is a frightening prospect.

Radio Sheffield this morning said that both Seip and Williamson are out.

0-1 Brian Howard to score winner!?

Think we'll win this game 2-1.

My team would be:

---------Bunn

Walker Morgs Fortune Stewart

Ward Harper Monty Quinn

------ Evans Cresswell

It's important we get back to winning ways and this is a great opportunity! we're likely to be a bit shaky at the back, so i'd like to see us take the game to them. They'll be aware that we've sold Killa, Seip is injured and Fortune is playing. Thye'll have analysed Saturdays game and hence it's important to drop Taylor. We can't rely on gridning them down and nicking it 9as we did against Boro) as I think we're certain to concede a goal. that said, we have the qaulity to win the game easily. Evans and Creswell are playing well together, with the latter on great goal scoring form. We've got Ward who is dangerous and KB should be telling Harper nd Quinn to step up their games and create things. We've also got the dangerous Camara on the bench and new boy Yeates could feature.

COYRWW!!!!!

Team news from the OS: LINKY

Kevin Blackwell has lost Gary Naysmih for a further six weeks and is without two more players for tonight's clash with Reading:

"We will be without Lee Williamson and Marcel Seip (both hamstring) and that puts our squad down to 18/19 but we will do what we can to get through.

"I hope that Williamson will only be out for a week or two because, although he nicked the top of his hamstring chasing back at Bolton, we did catch it early.

"Jon Fortune looked tired towards the end of the second-half at Bolton and I would have substituted him if I had had another centre-back on the bench because he was, understandably, knackered.

"He did brilliantly and although we knew that he had ability I felt a bit story for him because it takes time to get your speed and timing up to scratch and he just didn't have that chance."

Reading are still without Noel Hunt, Chris Armstrong and Julian Kelly, but experienced defender Zurab Khizanishvili could make his debut for the Royals after signing on loan from Blackburn on Monday afternoon.

Williamson's injuries are getting rather tiresome. He can't stay fit for more than 5 minutes.

* wishes he had'nt been such an inveterate clapper and lumped all his points on a home win now*

Very true Rev. He looks impressive, but is no use to us if he's not fit.

Was it his hamstring that was the problem before? If it was then he shoudl be rested until it's right! I now the squad is small and he looks good, but he shouldn't be playing if he's not 100%. Never mind playing him on the right, so he can get fit/avoid injury. He should be in the mix in the middel or the park or not at all.

Thankfully Harper can play according to Reading.

It's only fair if we are letting Dingle Howard play for them.

Let's hope that Harper has a point to prove and puts in a big performance. Though the same could be said for that wet lettuce Howard.

Howard is a permanent transfer though, no? Fingers crossed he's as shit as he was here... I somehow doubt it.

Is that fair in terms of making sure both teams are carrying a man? :D

think we'll beat them 2-0.

reading have been poor this season and i think the main reason is coppell departure.

think team should be: bunn, walker, stewart, morgs, fortune, quinn, harper, monty, ward, ched, cresswell.

don't think yeates is quite there yet with him not playing much recently.

come on blades!!!!

In advance, does anyone know of a link/site/trick so I can listen to the game?

I'm in London, so I might be able to pick up Radio Berkshire.

I suppose I should really stop being a tight arse and sign up to Blades World.

I think to be fair to Williamson, he was probably rushed back due to the last injury crisis. Luckily Yeates will come in for a straight swap.

team news:

Bunn, Montgomery, Morgan, Evans, Harper, Taylor, Cresswell, Ward, Quinn, Fortune, Walker. Subs: Henderson, Yeates, Williamson, Bennett, Stewart, Geary, Camara.

Decent starting line up, looks pretty balanced.

Plus a good strong attacking bench

I'd say thats about the strongest bench we've had in a while

Fortune favours the Brave

Get in 1-0!

Fortune

Sounds like we're well on top...

Yeah I said all along that he was an ideal replacement for Siep, Killa, Ugo, Jags, Holdsworth, Brian Gayle and Beesley
