Just about. Subs: Bennett, Seip, Fortune, Lowton, Williamson, Yeates.

Does this team mean our supporting striker is Mr. Jordam Stewart? Blades 0.....

The sky score centre thing has us down as 5 3 2, with Quinn up front, Stewart LB, Taylor CH. Think they may have just guessed at a formation?!

If you hadn't seen the Blades since the first game of the season, you would have wondered what had happened. Only Monty & Quinn recognisable. Amazing we are still where we are in the league. I think it will be all over tonight, but I hope and pray for a win.

Can't figure out what formation we are playing and who's in what position? Think it must be;

GK Simonsen

RB Connolly
CB Bartley
CB Taylor
LB Stewart

RM Little
CM Montgomery
CM Harper
CM Quinn
LM Stewart

CF Cresswell

Why play Taylor at centre half, (or at all) when Siep/Fortune are on the bench?

We're gonna get humped!

Christ I hope that isn't our formation 1 Stewart is bad enough what damage will two cause?

I assume it is:

GK Simonsen

RB Connolly
CB Nosworthy
CB Bartley
LB Taylor

RM Little
CM Montgomery
CM Harper
CM Quinn
LM Stewart

CF Cresswell

Nosworthy centre-half, Taylor left back, Stewart left wing is what it almost certainly is.

Injured in training seems to happen all the time - there is something very wrong there

Do we have Wednesdays fitness staff this season? The amount of injuries is on a par with theirs last season.

Anyway Blackwell got the result he set out to get from last nights game.

This from my City season ticket holding mate - he's still holding a grudge that they got 2 players sent off last year. Any comments re how dirty we are / were last night?

I won't moan on about last night as the stats will tell you that you should have lost;it's not your fault that we didn't take our chances after all.But it wouldn't be right if I failed to point out that you support the dirtiest, most cynical team I've seen since Barnsley five seasons ago.I know you're a fair-minded,honest chap,so I should extend my sympathies to you for having to support Sheffield United at this time;I almost fell about laughing when I heard Blackwell say afterwards 'I know we have the right attitude' and complaining that he had to introduce two players from the bench who weren't fit,as though that was any justification for kicking our players all over the pitch.

You've been watching football for long enough now to know that a one goal lead is never enough, but when that ginger git Quinn scored there was a noticeable lag before Sheffield United's fans celebrated as even they couldn't believe it.
I just hope we finish above you in the table this season as really it would be a great shame if such downright cynical tactics brought greater success than trying to play football.

Of course, the ref deserves criticism;he completely bottled several big decisions, giving Nosworthy a yellow when it should have been a red and failing to give Connolly a second yellow halfway through the first half when you could tell from their protests that the Sheffield players were expecting a card rather than an ineffectual lecture.

Anyway, that's that.Everyone seemed to be trotting out the line that it was a better result for us and that rubbish, but it's not inconceivable that we could lose our next four games and you win three of the next four (I think Newcastle might be too tough a nut for even your cloggers to crack),which would make life a bit too interesting for me.

Now f..k off,you dirty northern b*stard....

To be fair, similar to Donny they had by far the better chances in the first half and Simmo made some good saves. But again, similarly to the Donny match, second half we were creating stuff and pushing forward, we played the ball about well too.

He's going over-board on this one. They were going ballistic at every challenge/foul, even though they seemed to get every little decision until the last ten minutes.

It was difficult to tell with Nos, it looked at the time like he was just run into, but the referee booked him so must have "seen" something. If he saw an elbow, then he should have been off.

Other than that, there were just the run of the mill committed tackles and a few none malicious late challenges. Cardiff were getting really wound up, hounding the ref and the fans not happy though, so perhaps they saw a different game.

They also insisted on going down very easily and it was a bit of in injustice that they only got booked for diving the once. They also got away with squaring up to Bartley and pushing him in the face.

It was stuttered and slightly delayed, not in disbelief, but because we thought the keeper had stopped it twice.

Sour grapes. Second half, the odd chance apart, we played the better football.

you could tell from their protests that the Sheffield players were expecting a card rather than an ineffectual lecture.

Which isn't much of a surprise given that the ref was giving them everything and rather card happy towards the Blades. At one stage, Taylor had a right strop at him.

Overall, I think we can be happy with the performance (more so the second half). Under the circumstances we did well and showed some fight with a patched up team. If it wasn't for a Bartley mistake or we'd had a stroke of luck at the end, we could have won the match.

Which when you contrast the fact they had Chopra sat on the bench for 80 mins and we had to play Quinny up front, isn't a bad achievement.
