Yep, stripes were never banned in the EFL, they were having talks about how to make numbers easier to read, with one of the suggestions being solid backs, they already improved it last season by ditching the stupid numbers that were in multiple pieces and were considering radical ideas like having a border on them like everyone else does.

Stripes have never been banned in the Premier League, even though a few people always claim it's a Premier League rule every season when the new shirt is due, they had guidelines ages ago that caused loads of plain backs but never an outright ban.

Stripes were effectively banned until a few years ago in Europe, now you can get away with names and numbers on a big solid block, If you have less colour contrast like Barcelona or Milan you can get away with proper stripes and no box.

So until we're in Europe we can have fully stripey backs.

I remember that one and the HFS Loans after it. Great thick stiff mousemat-looking things hot-glued onto the shirt, making it more or less impossible to wash. And kids these days moan about Errea quality!

I've been waiting 20 years to use my degree in Chinese and at last an opportunity.

鼎升果业 were the characters on the shirt (in traditional Chinese characters, obvs; it would be written 顶升果业 in simplified Chinese). Pronounced "dingsheng guoye" in Mandarin.

"果" means fruit in Chinese, "业" means company.

"鼎升" is a given name in this context I think.

So yeah fruit juice would make sense. At the time, I assumed it was a tech company of some kind imitating Apple with the fruit reference.

Listen..... it's alright is that kit, in my own opinion. I'm old fashioned and i like tradition, but it's been thoughtfully put together i feel and it isn't offensive in the slightest. I get vibes of petr kachuro and a later dane whitehouse in that wards number. I don't lislike those thoughts in the slightest and i feel the overall quality is better.

I'm going to buy it.... hope the addition of a sponsor doesn't ruin it as it's always a risk.

That was it until it was leaked. Then Errea amd the club panicked amd rushed a new one out. Hence the delay.

Same number of stripes, solid sleeves. The template is there. They just got rid of those ghastly grey pinstripes. Different sponsor but until announced different, Randox are still applicable. Or were.

Tell ya, that turkey one was a trial shirt.

They'll just have to be a tiny bit lower down, the original just had stripes all the way to the top and the shirts didn't have names on back then.
