I wasnt aware of this but the 2 year freeze is only applicable if you become a 'true blade' by 17th April.

We may still not know which league were in and anybody who hasnt had a season ticket previously can reap these rewards, ive had one for 11 years, i cant get one next year as im doing my pgce, without a doubt i will be renewing the year after, whatever league were in.

I get no benefits from this so called price freeze for 2 years.

yet another example of the clowns running our club shitting on people like me.

Hmmmm, have you tried contacting Richard Batho with your grievances so he can look into it for ya?

Might be worth a constructive letter to highlight your plight ;)

heh.. and hence why i've not bought linz the pint i owe(?) her yet.. i don't think we've heard the last of this.. classic spin from maccabe:hello:
also if i don't get my true blade certification and find that my world hasn't melted down a week later, does this mean i don't have to go anymore??

Im considering a letter to the club to be honest, in order for me to keep my points ill probably have to become a member for the one season im not a 'true blade'.

is there a direct contact for mr batho?

You said the renewal price was going up, it hasn't.

Poor form Super_pig

You are saying that they will raise renewal ST prices for next season by the £50 that Lenners is grumbling about?
yeah why not if it makes you feel better.. and if i am wrong i'll say .. i was wrong and that will be it..

It was also quite clear that the renewal offers were for the first deadline (which might slide). This is hardly new news, just something new to moan about.

As i said, i wasnt aware, and im not going on about this for moanings sake. I just think its quite tragic from the club thats all, there is no reward for loyalty by doing it this way and to suggest the club are freezing ticket prices is just spin. No individual circumstances are taken into consideration, its all take, take, take.

There is a reward for loyalty but it's based on the measure of whether you're buying this year's season ticket. And it isn't just spin for those who do choose to renew - it's fact. They cannot make exceptions for people on appeal.

As it happens I've sympathy with you because they might have used the loyalty points system somehow to get more people on board. You've a right to ask that question. But I'm fairly certain they will have considered it and have reasons for not doing so. Can but ask...

I've had a season ticket for a number of years, but to be honest, if I didn't renew next season I wouldn't expect the offer to hold.

While I sympathise with your position, you are in the minority because by your own admission you probably won't be renewing in a years time.
I think the offer is still a great deal for the majority of fans and as much as the club could do in the current climate.

I think you might actually be surprised if you contact the club in the proper manner at their response. I know someone who lost their job just after renewing and as a result of talking to the club they got a full refund while being offered the discount this year.

I just don't buy that the club are all faceless money grabbers who happily treat all the fans with contempt.

No I dont either, I think its an unfair notion. I do however feel that their marketing ideas are horribly out of touch and lets face it, the customer service has never been the best.

ill see what theyve got to say and let you know their response, i appreciate where you guys are coming from and the reward is their for the people who renew this season should they choose too again the following, i just think its a tad dissapointing thats all.

Huh,

DP8789, you want the club to reward your loyalty of 11 years, by giving you a discount for your season ticket for the season after next because you're not buying one next season...?

Have I missed the point, call me Mr picky, you're not getting a season ticket next season (for legitimate reasons) which means that the club loses your loyalty for a season and will have one less fan through the turnstiles...

The loyalty points scheme still works, you just won't be a true blade at the lane ;)

If you're not getting a season ticket for the 11-12 season then you can't really renew a ticket you don't have anymore for the 12-13 season, can you? Why should those who renew get the same deal as those who don't?

The April 17 deadline will slide and there will be special offers on tickets next season.
Science de rocket, il n'est pas.

Actually, DP.... I reckon if you went to the ticket office and offered to buy a season ticket but have it deferred a year, that would sound reasonable. United want your custom and the situation would seem unlikely to set a damaging precedent given the one-off nature of the offer and the rarity of such a request.

Anyone see a problem with that?

No, i would just like too see the club put the freeze in place on season tickets and it not be incentivised, all i am saying is that the 2year freeze is good in principle but its just annoying that it only applys to those renewing by the deadline.

Is this a wind up? People are seriously worried that United are going to increase ST prices significantly next season so we must all panic and make the most of this incredible offer.

Is anyone seriously suggesting United will be in a position to contemplate any sort of siginificant price increase next season whatever league we are in?

A significant price cut is more likely in what will be a too late in the day attempt to win back some of the 5,000 to 10,000 ST holders the club will have lost by then.

Really, you can calm down. The 2 season price freeze thing is meaningless. The club knows it won't be increasing prices ,much if at all (unless they are absolutely hell bent getting the fanbase lower than Barnsley's).

It is an empty marketing gimmick designed to fool it's customers into thinking they are getting something when they are not.

And really don't wory about the ridiculous early deadline. If the club are daft enough not to extend it you can still ring up well after the deadline and say that you will renew but only at the discount - and they will let you. I know many who have done this in recent years.

The club is desperate for your money - in fact they are so depserate they will even take money off False Blades like me sometimes.

Obviously you're in an unfortunate situation that you can't take advantage of the offer, but the club have to do what they can to maximise their revenue and quite possibly cash in on the fact that we're not yet relegated.

yet.. for those who beat the deadline

>yes this means you dont have to go anymore
cool
