José Mourinho's Chelsea got 186 in total between 04/05 and 05/06. Can't see Wilder not passing that though.

95 points in one season was utterly fantastic from Chelsea by the way. Achieving a respectable title winning points tally by football league standards but in 8 games less! It was the equivalent of 115 points in a 46 game season!

He's one of us. Play it down.crap manager but we'll give him a chance. ;) ;) ;)

Can he beat the SUFC record for the number of points in a season ? Porterfield got 96, Wilson got 90 (I assume this is the second highest).

After 40 games, Porterfield had 82 points, after 40 games Wilson had 79 points.

I suspect the standard of opposition in the third tier in 2017 is tougher than that in the fourth tier in 1981.

Does anybody know what the 2 season points record is for a manager?

The best that I can find is Madkins at Saints in 10/11 and 11/12 - 180 points.

The reason that I ask is that Tufty hit 181 last night.

UTB - Magic For Ever

Sorry to put a downer on it but people would then argue that Adkins' 180 points was accumulated in tougher divisions from L1 and the Championship, whereas Wilder's would be from L2 and L1.

Unless Wilder gets us automatic promotion again next season then maybe he'll become the manager to get a MASSIVE points haul from 3 consecutive seasons? I'm sure we all doubt that will happen though.

But it could you never know, Starting to believe any thing is possible with Wilder at the helm.

Its all relative though - the players at CWs disposal were L2 and L1 standard.

Graham Turner was manager of Wolves when they won the Fourth and Third divisions consecutively in 1988 and 1989. Their totals were 90 and 92 respectively, so that's better than Adkins.

to be fair, does it matter what league it is?sure the opposition isn't as good, but neither is the players available to the manager. From a manager perspective promotion is a promotion. Same achievements. If he got promoted from this league with a premier league Chelsea squad then yeah, it's less of an achievement. In fact his promotion last year from a neutral perspective was more impressive then this year.

United's record for two consecutive seasons would be 169 (84 + 85) under Bassett (in my lifetime anyway).
If Wilder gets us to say 94 this season he will need 76 next season to beat that (Play off form).
