Loved the away kit. Disliked the home...but as a kid, still got it (in 90s baggy style so I wager it still fits!). As bad as it was, what followed was a banger!

I've still got the home shirt and it still fits! It was/is crap but it's that crap it's become heroic! It's ironic they've bought it back because the season we had the diamond shirt we were awful too and looked like going down to League One for large parts of the season.

The diamond shirt was scrapped after just one season in the era where shirts were for two seasons! Saying all of that I think it will be better than whatever Adidas serve us next season! I'd have took back the diamond kit for heroic value for one season.
There were two main reasons for scrapping it after one season.

1. It did not sell well.

2. I heard that the players hated the design and also saw the shirt as "unlucky".

Of course, as Aganarama says Avec's 1996-7 effort was brilliant, and has aged very well. It's my all time favourite home shirt and I think a lot of folk agree. It's one of the few I have not given to Revo Jr!

Loved that 97 home shirt but the fit is horrendous on the original ones.

Got one out of the loft the other day, massive sleeves and crop top length.

One thing I've never understood about the kits from the 80s and 90s is why we never had the club badge on our shirts.

There was about a 20 year gap from this:

to this:
