It was at home to Everton. Drew 1-1 in March 1972. Players from l to r are John Hope,David Ford,Ted Hemsley, Ian MacKenzie, Mick Lyons (Everton), TC, Bernie Wright (Everton) and Howard Kendall (Everton)

Sixteen players on those photos. Sixteen players that gained promotion and then took League 1 (now the Premiership) by storm. How can we be languishing in this division with over 30 players?

Quality not quantity. So many proper players in that team.
And only 1 sub in those days.

think that was our 2 - 1 defeat at maine road november 71 if it was should be on that pick and although city's main lads were on the new north stand end it was still a horrible day on the kippax for the thousand or so blades on there
