Puzzled me tooOne thing which struck me as odd was the reference to Wilson in the report by Peter Howard as “the former England left back”. Unless I have missed something this would appear to be Ray Wilson who went on to play in every England game in the 1966 World Cup. Had he fallen out of favour in January, 1965? His Wikipedia page makes no mention.

I've often thought there must be Blades who can see themselves on some of these old photos. There you are ancient - you come up with the goods.im on that first picture silent me and a mate were stood in front of cricket pavilion for that game lol kettlebro was walking before ref even got to him

1936 FA cup final was the same. I assume they thought stripes were sufficiently distinct from solids.6/3/1965
Arsenal 1 (Ure) Blades 1 (Hartle)
Both teams wore red and white, only time in our history when the ref allowed both teams wearing their red and white shirts?
