Sounds like one or two loans from PL then, that's what we usually wait for, unless the other four or five are mostly loans, seems strange that the full quota of loans won't be taken up

That's the major problem of our transfer strategy is too many loans. We can't keep a settled side, it's been a while when there hasn't been a loan in at CB and the partnerships take time to build especially when you don't have a dominating leader. Tanganga should be in the faces of everyone, Bindon you can make exceptions for as he is only 21 and still learning his trade on loan. But has been the better CB all season. especially out of them two.

Easier said than done but we really need to get our business done as early as we can - we can't still be bedding a team in half way through November.

Based on the rubbish we've seen for a sizable chunk of this season, I'd lose no sleep if Tanganga, Cannon, Burrows, Shackleton, Campbell, Chong, McGuinness and Matos were sent packing alongside the loanees going back, players out of contract and AI players.

Leaves us with Cooper, McCallum, Arblaster, Hamer, O'Hare, Brooks, Davies, Seriki, Peck, Riedewald, Bamford and Rothwell as first team regulars and a load of youngsters and filler who we're paying but are unlikely to feature. Under no illusions either that at least 2 or 3 of these are likely to go.

Defence needs sorting out and we need someone besides Bamford who can trouble the scorers

Agreed. Take midfield for example: we have needed more physicality in there for ages, but instead of busting a gut to get Onyeka we went for a semi-fit Phillips & Rothwell.
