2-1 to the Blades with kenny sent off after conseding a pen infront of the KOP.

On a more serious note, I would go with this lineup tomorrow:-

GK: Simonsen
RB: Nosworthy (if fit; otherwise Kozluk)
CB: Morgan
CB: Ertl
LB: Taylor (assuming Jordan isn't ready)
RM: Ward
CM: Montgomery
CM: Britton
LM: Yeates
FW: Evans
FW: Cresswell

Subs:- Aksalu; Roe; Bartley; Chappell; Quinn; James; Bogdanovic - (Kozluk on the bench if he's not playing and Jordan if he's fit enough to play some part)

I think its important we have some continuity from the side that played at Cardiff. Nine of the starting eleven above started that game. I think bringing Yeates in for Quinn would be more positive though and would give us more purpose going forward. It's a very young looking bench but we are spread thin at the moment really.

You think he will go 4-4-2 at Home after starting 4-3-3 away?

I think he will stick with 4-3-3, quite rightly IMO too.

To be honest Bob I would like to see him stick to 4-3-3 myself but I could see him going with two banks of four for this one. He'll want to match them up man for man so we can pick up players like Taarabt when they don't have the ball.

If he goes 4-3-3 then I expect Ertl might be moved into midfield, we'll see.

My lineup would be:

Simmo
Kozluk
Bartley
Morgan
Taylor
Ertl
Monty
Britton
Ward
Cresswell
Evans

I don't think Jordan is fit til next week but might make the bench. If Evans doesn't make it then Bogdanovic will deputise.

Sheffield United 0-1 QPR

Kenny to score in the last minute infront of the Kop after coming up for a corner.

Just hope the deserved grief kenny get's does'nt backfire and inspire him to perform heroics between the sticks. Warnock will be charging the QPR squad up bigtime for this one.

Team for QPR...

Just wondered what everyone thought we should go for in our first home game of the season? Obviously the onus is on us as the home side to attack QPR, meaning many might prefer we resort to 4-4-2, but what would your preferred line-up be?

Assuming Ched is not fit enough following his knock, and that Jordan and Nos are injured as reported, my line up would be:

______________________SIMONSEN________________________

ERTL___________BARTLEY_________MORGAN__________TAYLOR

________________MONTY__________QUINN_________________

_______________________BRITTON________________________

WARD________________________________________CRESSWELL

______________________BOGDANOVIC______________________

I know this is pretty much the same line-up as at Cardiff, but i really see many plusses to this sort of set-up - It may been seen as negative by some (4-5-1), but if you set the two wide men to attack (which tbf Ward and Cresswell should do as natural forward players) then it can quite easily become a positive, attacking formation more akin to the 4-2-1-2-1 played by many top flight and european teams.

Britton is allowed to join up in an advanced free-role with the protection of Monty and Quinn to protect the space left by himself, Ward and Cresswell.

Boggy seems surprisingly quite mobile, and I can see him being able to adapt to drop behind Cresswell if needed, likewise this formation allows us to easily switch to a more ridgid 4-4-2 formation when required - Cressy joins upfront, Quinn to the left and bingo we've got our 442 for when we need a more solid shape with 2 banks of 4 i.e. when 1 or 2 nil up with 20 mins to go at home. I do think Ched will play a much more pivotal role for us this season, and can see him finally getting the goals we all hoped for last year (injuries permitting) - i do see it being a straight fight between him and boggy if KB adopts this sort of formation this season, and that can only be good for competition as both would probably start for many sides in this league, and both potentially 15-20 goal a season strikers.

This formation can also been reverted to a crowded 4-5-1 for such times away from home when needed to protect a one nil lead or settle for a point away at a championship title runner (as is the Blackwell special!).

We have Yeates who can quite easily slot in there when required, and Ertl can push into midfield if we need an extra body in there (unfortunately that means Kozzy being the RB replacement, who although i like as a solid pro, is a bit restricted in his play and is caught out more and more now days by the quicker, tricky-er wingers).

When Nos returns i can see KB playing him RB with Morgs and Bartley at centre half until he finds a permanent RB. Jordan will slot in for Taylor who still looks out of his depth to me (although not quite as bad as some would make out), and should hopefully provide a more solid defence against the pacey wingers of this league.

All in all i really like the line-up, balance and shape we can set-up with now, with the players we have, making the above more possible and attacking play a more realistic goal (if KB really wants to play that way), I just worry about our same old lack of depth which can quite quickly turn this top 6 chasing side into a mediocre looking average Championship side featuring the likes of Kozzy, Taylor, Hendo, France etc...

None the less, as always at this time of year, i'm looking for the positives...

UP THE BLADES!!!!

I think you may be right, depending on Evans' fitness. Although, I can see Bartley at RB rather than Ertl - if Kozzy doesn't start. I think it's important that we put in a good performance today. The cup exit was hardly a disaster, but the performance was reminiscent of last season and I feel KB needs to show the fans that we have changed our approach.

That's a decent lineup but I wouldn't go for Ertl at right back. His abilities are wasted out there and I would prefer to see him in midfield, but I think he will play centre back again today. This may be too soon for Bartley and if Noz is fit (unlikely) I expect him to play right back. I think United will go 4-4-2 in this but for the sake of comparison this is what I would do in a 4-5-1:-

-------------------------Simonsen-------------------------
---Nosworthy-----Morgan----------Ertl-----Taylor----------
---------------Montgomery--------Quinn-------------------
---------------------------Britton-------------------------
---Ward---------------------------------------Cresswell---
---------------------------Evans--------------------------

Subs:- Aksalu; Kozluk; Bartley; Chappell; James; Yeates; Bogdanovic

*If Nosworthy isn't ready, Kozluk in at right back and Jordan up to the bench to make up numbers.

If we set up like this I quite like the look of our options from the bench. Its really nice to see youngsters in and around the squad.

This is bobbins. No shape & no clue. Officials not helping either.

Is it as poor as the score suggests Linz... sorry not at the match but maybe that's a good thing ?

Score in a brothel. we couldn't score on a brothel.

Score in a brothel - we couldn't ------ well you know the rest.

At least we kept a clean sheet in the second half eh? Teriffic.

Was a shocking performance. We wernt helped by the bint of an assistant ref & the ref.
