Got our tickets yesterday and looking at the computer screen as he was sorting them out, they haven't been selling too well...

I keep thinking this is Tuesday and not Wednesday.

Keep reminding me :)

It'll be interesting to see what kind of team he puts out. Are we going for a cup run or using the game as another development friendly to see how the players do - a mix of the youth (Naughton? Wedgbury?), oldies (Ehiogu?) and not quite fit (Hendrie? Monty? Cotterill??)

Arguably, the development friendlies have been the most exciting pre-season so I wouldn't see a mixed team as any slight on the cup or statement of not wanting to do well.

I just think that it's a bloody stupid time to have a cup match, the first week of the season.

Can we play the attendance game for this match?!

Hopefully won't be like the last time we played The Mighty Vale

8,000

Loads of empty seats to choose from well according to the computer at the box office.

We really couldnt care less about this match. :)

I've seen Vale fans reckoning they're bringing 1500...

Just thinking with all the post B'ham doubters what about a midfield of Hendrie Spring Monty and Cotterill against Port Vale? Add to the 16 Bennett, Armstrong, Geary, Eghiou, Naughton, Robertson, Law, Travis, Wedgebury, Chanot, Webber and Stead. Not bad for the reserves!

Foxy will be happy with that team... he can introduce his French boyfriend to everyone :D :mwah:

I think whatever team we put out, we should be going for a win. None of this "oh it doesn't matter" business. We want a winning mentality around the place and it's our first game at home.

We pretend it doesn't matter when we're knocked out ;)

Just have a look back to this mornings shoutbox... My prediction came true about Hendo scoring ;) What a genius.

3-1

Decent win although disappointed they managed to get a goal. I thought we were the stronger team overall and probably should of been a couple of goals up well before half time. 2 cracking goals from Quinn and Hendrie absolute screamers from some decent counter attacking football. Although the relish had another poor game and his attempts at crossing were awful. Hendrie played rather well surprisingly and didnt get arsey about being subbed either. Spring did alright played rather well in the middle with Hendrie. Hard to decide who was MOM Quinn, Hendrie, Geary, Cotterill and Webber all had good games.

I wasn't surprised. Been impressed with him all pre-season. Thought he was a little quiet today, but had a good game all the same. Managed to bag the goal I said he would too :D
To be fair, he was mainly quiet due to often making acres of space for himself only to not receive the ball :)

Hope it continues, well done Hendo!
