Anyway, off topic...

How do you know what bothers me and what doesn't? I wondered whether the younger element of the crowd, both sides, knew the meaning behind the word "scab". For you to say I was bothered by it would imply that by some strange psychic power you know what other people think.

I re-iterate.....

If you weren't bothered you wouldn't have mentioned it

I'd suspect that the majority of United fans old enough to read would know the significance of 1889 ......

But I know that the vast majority of fans don't know that the original lyric is "every year is 1889", and not "and the year is 1889" :p.

While I agree that the strike didn't affect Sheffield as directly as other parts in the local area, it still had a massive impact, not least on what was still (just) our major industry in steel, which had been decimated just four years beforehand.

If nothing else, the Miners' Strike was a hugely defining period in recent social history, and its aftermath is still being felt, it could be said. Had the miners won, then The Infernal Thatch (TIT) wouldn't have got a third term, and by the same token, we wouldn't have had Nu Labia. We would also still have unions which were stronger than a piece of wet bog roll.

Anyways, yes, the referee was wank.

But you must be bothered by the fact that you thought SV was bothered.

Isn't that a strange thing to be bothered about?

And before anyone starts, I'm not bothered, just permanently angry ;)
