yeah ive been a few times and had a brilliant view every time

Were you sat next to Mr Ferguson?
Or maybe in one of those boxes asking real fans to be seated?

Come on lads... it's important to get some points on the board tonight before our trip to Reading at the weekend.

I really hope we aren't going to be kicked off the park in some pathetic campaign for "justice" and that the handful of Barnsleys who are making the trip are drowned out with noise.

A scrappy 1-0 win with the ball rebounding off Monty's arse would do me tonight.

Another example of poor viewing is Blackburn.....

If he plays the fat alco will score its sods law

I'm not actually eligible to play I'm afraid ;)

Anyways.....

Hopefully a win tonight, not looking forward to it mind.

I had a look on Sky Sports News text last night on the Blades page and it said, and I quote:-
"The corresponding fixture at Oakwell was over-shadowed when Chris Morgans' attack on Iain Hume ended in a fractured skull for the Barnsley forward".

This morning the word "attack" had been changed for "lunge".

Anyone else notice this?

By contrast on the BBC red button, on the Blades page it said, and I quote:-
"The teams' last meeting was over-shadowed by Barnsley striker Iain Hume suffering a fractured skull after a collision with Uniteds' Chris Morgan".

Now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the medias job to report things objectively. It has not been proved that Chris Morgan "attacked" Iain Hume and so I would consider the first SSN quote to be slanderous and may explain why it had been changed by this morning.

It's just another example of the shit-headed media we have in this country stirring things up. This kind of sensationalist reporting can have far-reaching consequences and Sky should be ashamed of themselves. Even if the reporter who wrote the text page was a Dingle and felt that it was indeed an "attack", it was not an editorial column and his opinions have no place on a teletext page.

Still using 'lunge' from sky sports - I deem bad admin.

I don't recall any 'lunge' anyway.

I hope the referee is going to be strong enough tonight to deal with any misdemeanours.

Really not confident with regards to the score though :(

If we can keep 11 men on the field i think we will get something out of the game if not then it could be a cricket score

Barnsley have apparently sold 1700 for tonight (or should that be "toneet"?)

Cricket scores rarely happen in these games.

It all depends on what your fruitcake of a manager says in the dressing room. If his attitude is anything like it's been reported in the aftermath of the hulme injury you'll be lucky to finish with 8 men.

From the BBC

Sheffield United are expected to name an unchanged side as they hope to extend their eight-game unbeaten run.

Defender Greg Halford is expected to continue as a makeshift striker backing up Darius Henderson and Jamie Ward. (Surely this would make him a Midfielder?)

Barnsley boss Simon Davey has a fully-fit squad. Adam Hammill (ligament) is back in training but unlikely to play.

The teams' last meeting was overshadowed by Barnsley striker Iain Hume suffering a fractured skull after a collision with United's Chris Morgan.

The lower tier holds 2,800 - so I think you may be wrong there.

ive been down oakwell this morning for some tickets a bloke next to me asked for a ticket for tonight's game as far back as possible and the women said there is only the first 5 rows left

phone and ask whats the farest back seat they have if you don't beleave me

01226 211 211

To be honest, I'm not particularly bothered :)

Interesting that they have the first 5 rows left, when originally you had one on row C though?

Plus its a bit late now, they were only selling until 12.00.

when i went down for my ticket first time i wont on the ball and dint realise they were fobbing me off with a shite view so i had to go back and swap it most people would of checked before they left or asked for them far back

you will see tonight empty seats are

you will see tonight

We will indeed, and I don't doubt your information in the slightest. Obviously very organised selling though, if you originally got Row C but you have the best part of the front 6 rows remaining?

You been practising your new club "anthem"?

1-0 to Tarn will do me tonight, players should be ready for it and hopefully we won't have to listen to any of wavey davy's excuses.

yeah but no matter how hard i try i just can't seem to get the words to fit

I really hope we aren't going to be kicked off the park

Looking at the comparative size and stature of the two teams, and the style of play, I imagine that would not be the case. We've all got hockey masks and cricket helmets on:p

I'm not going tonight, staying well clear. If there are less than 50 arrests, then i'll bare my arse on Sheffield City Hall steps.

Big bad Jamie Ward's gonna get yer ;)

Big bad Jamie Ward's gonna get yer ;)

He got us last time! Well, his agent maybe!

Is Howard likely to be in the squad? I noticed that he wasn't in the last couple. Is Blackwell likely to stick him on the bench to cause a bit of mischief?

A couple of my Blade's supporting mates keep offering him back to us. Has he really been that bad?

Just a little chuckle for you lot, from one of our 'fans' on our board:

"I hope the Blunts come away from this match realising how strongly we feel about how their manager asked them to kick Barnsley off the field which resulted in the near DEATH of one of our players.

How Brian Howard upset the dressing room at Barnsley and has praised Sheffield United to the roof tops since leaving hasn't helped either.

If you are going to this match thinking it is just another match then either you have;

1) no soul
OR
2) not that interested in Barnsley and its football club"

This was posted in a thread about how someone hoped that we beat you at football tonight. No controversy, no talking points or no excuses.

THAT'S why i'm not going.
